2 hour movie

KirkPicard

Trekmovie confirmed that the movie will run for approximately 2 hours. Do you think that is sufficient for the movie or were you hoping for a 2.5 or 3 hour running time?

That's outrageous. Abrams should know by now that a 5 hour movie is the only way to go. That's how Peter Jackson did it, that's how America does it... and it's worked out pretty well so far.

If he's got a two hour story, then he should make a two hour movie, unless of course he has a three and a half hour story. :)

As long as the length is a function of the story being told, any length is fine with me. It sounds like Abrams was strongly in favor of keeping it a tight two hours (as opposed to, say, the studio ordering him to bring it in under two hours to maximize showing turnover), which is a good sign.

i was sortof hoping for a 2 1/2 or 3 hour long movie myself. I just hate it when they chop the hell out of the movie just so they can cram as many showings in a day.

^ There's no evidence that that's the case here. It was with Nemesis, but not neccesarily here. I wonder how long the script was.

As long as I don't end up demanding those two hours back, I could go with this.

Well, at least it's not less than two hours. I was hoping for longer, but hey, at least they're not trying to make it 88 minutes or something rushed like that.

Besides, I can always hold out hope for deleted or re-inserted scenes on the DVD.

This is just silly.

It has to be at least 7 hours long, any less would be proof that Abrams doesn't respect Star Trek.

How about a 170+ hour movie transmitted in one-hour installments, say weekly, roughly concurrently with school years for a few years?

I was hoping for longer movie approx 130min to 140min.(finger crossed for director edition)

How can you be hoping for a directors edition before anyone has even seen the movie? For all we know the theatrical release is the directors edition.

No, it needs to be 6 7-hour movies, and Kirk needs to die in the second and be brought back from the dead in the third.

And the first needs to be cataclysmically boring.

That's how to respect Trek.

If you want a 3 hour film don't worry If Scifi gets the re-airing rights to the film then the film will be 3 hours with all the dam commercials they will put in!! LOL

As long as it's on the plus side of 2 hours (2hr, 10 min) instead of the minus side (1hr, 50 min), I'll be happy. :techman:

What the hell is that from?

EDIT: Nevermind. I figured it out.
