2,500 year old-slab reveals ancient language

http://www.cnn.com/videos/world/2016/04/01/italy-etruscan-slab-find-orig-vstan.cnn/index.html?sr=fb0421601/italyetruscanslabfindorigvstan.cnn1124aVODLink

I think it would be really interesting to discover the first slab or tablet that shows how the first scientific experiment was conducted and what the results were.

They are saying this particular Etruscan inscription is most likely religious in nature. I wonder how much they will be able to translate. Only a few hundred words in Etruscan are known with certainty.

It will still be interesting to read what it says and hopefully more can be learned for the Etruscan Tablet.

Infraction for flaming and for making me do my job here while I'm in Disney World.

Then I presume you have also done something akin to PhaserLightShow for being the rudest person I have ever had the misfortune to encounter in 20 years of online discussion. If I knew how to block him, I would, but that option has vanished for me

People called Romanes, they go, the house?
It says, 'Romans go home'

If you click his avatar the ignore option should be on the line under the location.

No it doesn't! What's the Latin for "Roman"? Come on, come on!

Anyway, TOP needs to define what he means by "scientific experiment". Ibn al-Ḥaytham (Alhazen) is often considered to have formulated the concept of the scientific method back in the 4-5th century AH (10-11th century CE).

If you see a member post something rude and inflammatory, click the report button or contact a mod and we will review it and deal with it. The poster in question hadn't even posted in this thread, yet you still randomly decided to bring them up and insult them.
Now stop derailing this thread.

Try the ignore function.

I noticed that the word scan was part of Etruscan.

I wonder if there is some part of their language that has been used to develop devices and software that scan.

BWAH HA HA!!!! Congratulations! You've just topped yourself! :guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

Unless you are the literal son of someone named Dry, you should be able to guess that words generally don't work that way.

Or you could look up the origin of the word "scan".

On the other hand, if your father's name was Dry Huth, I'll give you the point.
