1st trailer for "Snow White & The Huntsman"

Snow White & the Hunstman looks like it's going to be a winner. I'm going to predict 76% on the Rotten Tomatoes scale. As for Mirror Mirror... 9%

Apples and oranges. One wants to be Lord of the Rings, the other wants to be The Princess Bride. I don't expect either to surpass their peers, but both look fun enough to watch at some point.

Agreed, they are completely different takes on the source. Doesn't make much sense to compare them to each other.

^ Cool. I don't remember dwarves in the first trailer. Wasn't sure if they were going a different direction there.

I find myself rather unmoved by the trailer. Maybe part of it is because I don't think much of Stewart as an actress, but the whole thing has a "been there, done that" feel to it. I mean, the idea of taking a fairytale and darkening it has been done so many times in the movies, as well as TV productions like Tin Man. And reimagining Snow White in particular is something that's already been done on TV just recently, and I find the Once Upon a Time take to be more interesting than this.

Of course it's hard to judge a movie by its trailer (just ask fans of John Carter), and I'm not saying the thing will bomb or be a bad movie. But at the same time I don't see a lot of substantial difference in tone between this and the Red Riding Hood film with Seyfried that came out last year. Nothing here really makes me want to go see it.

Embarrassingly I do enjoy watching Top Chef and Charlize Theron was a blast hosting a wicked themed dinner to promote this which has had me looking forward to this. Seeing the trailer hasn't diminished that, it looks decent.

I was enachanted by the first trailer, but this one I liked less.

I stopped it halfway because I got the feeling they were giving away the whole movie.

That, and they should have asked Christopher Lee to voice the mirror.

I've read about the dwarves before, but what I find funny is that there is no trace of Prince Charming or whatever they'll call him (and he does exist, Claflin - the priest from the last Pirates of the Caribbean film - was cast).

The prince is in the film - the teaser trailer showed him.

People may feel that this latest trailer shows all, but the absence of the Prince (and presumably other characters) proves that this is not the case.

A sword-wielding Snow White, with plate armor. Pass.

Ah, but their timing is impeccable, right as The Hunger Games is stoking the public appetite for Joan of Arc fantasy figures. They'll do well at the box office.

Mirror, Mirror looks like a trainwreck. Poor Tarsem Singh must be livid at how it's being marketed - basically, Julia Roberts chasing Armie Hammer around the bedroom. You wouldn't know there was an ounce of visual splendor to it. Ugh, I'm not sure I'm up for watching the Evil Queen sexually harass Prince Charming. :rommie: Rental, maybe.

I agree it's been done to death, but somehow this feels a cut above the usual fairy tale remake. It looks epic and moody and stylish in all the RIGHT ways, and doesn't look like just another sappy Twilight wannabe with another sappy romance at the heart of it (even despite the fact it's got Stewart in it).

Plus most of those other reimaginings have played up the whimsical side of the story. This feels much more like something out of the dark and spooky world of a real fairy tale.

I don't get this movie.. at all.

They took the basic story, slapped some A or maybe B listers on it and went wild with CGI monsters and some huge battles that don't even exist in the fairy tale.

I'm getting a 3 Musketeers vibe from it and it doesn't appeal to me at all.. if it were Burton level weirdness i might see it because that man is twisted as hell but has a unique and interesting style but this just looks to cash in a post Twillight Stewart on top of some outrageous SFX.

Can't imagine it'll be any good.

I'm with those that are definitely interested in it. Looks like a good one to see in theaters IMO!
