15 degrees outside and getting colder

Right. You got a dusting of snow this year. Let me just remind you it's -20 here in Ottawa, feels like -33 with the windchill, and as for snow, we had two separate, out-of-the-blue white-outs yesterday. So there. :p

You're more used to that sort of weather because of the area you live in, and we're better at complaining about it than you are.

I think this calls for the Great Canada versus England Weather Complain-Off. It's the only way this will ever be decided.

Hmmm - Canadians - unfailingly polite vs the British and their famed stiff upper lips. You may want to call in some ringers. You need real kvetchers like Michiganders on your team!

I don't know about that. I mean, if there's one thing that every Canadian can agree on at any given time, it's the following statement:

"The weather sucks."

Incidentally (okay, and on topic), I had to walk from my apartment to campus tonight, and it was bloody freezing. -14 C right now, feels like -20 with the windchill. It's supposed to warm up a little tomorrow, though, which would be nice because I want to go skating.

It is presently 34C (93F) in Hobart.

Do I miss heat like that - not at all.

Given a choice between -12 as it was today when I was out and temps in the mid to high 30s back in Adelaide, the cold wins.

Was even tempted to go side last night and see how it was when the temp dropped to around minus 30 with windchill but couldn't be bothered.

I think Adelaide is only in the mid-20s today. Tasmania and Victoria are the two states 'enjoying' the heat today.

It is now about 5pm in Hobart and the temperature has risen to 35.6C (about 96F). I am hoping for a thunderstorm.

Edited to add - it looks like the cool change has hit Melbourne and their temperature has dropped. Hobart will be the hottest capital today. It is 37 in my suburb (98.6F). Clouds are now forming. I wonder if it will reach 100F.

Low 30s today - I checked typing the message :) Looks like a fairliy mild week around 30 though the humidity si going to make things uncomfortable.

Summer here doesn't get as hot but the huminidity is a real mongrel. One day summer we had a temprature of 30 plus the humidex of 13 degrees so it felt like 43 - it was a vicious day.

Still 35C here. Seems to be a lot of smoke to the south of Hobart but the Tasmanian Fire Service website is down so I can't tell what fires are burning.
