Dude, election's over. Cut it out.
Dude. Seriously. Knock it off.
Y'know, I've still never seen Ironman.
Just as I thought. Nowhere near the 40-50 Million most people thought. Star Trek will sadly not even see 180 Million let alone 200.
Yeah, I did check how far out the calendar goes at their website with Trek on the IMAX, and it only goes out to May 20 -- which would be the end of the two-week period. We've only seen it in IMAX. Tomorrow will be #5.
I guess when IMAX is over, I will have to resign myself to the small screen.
They are crazy not to allocate a few IMAX screes to Trek if the figures are still high enough to warrant it. Night at the Museum? In IMAX?? Why?

I find your constant pessimistic attitude tiresome.
If you don't think this film is doing outstanding business, I'd like to know what film you think IS successful...?
This film has gone over and above the expected box office performance. AND -- most importantly -- it has PROVEN that there IS still an audience for Star Trek. Paramount needed to be reassured of that after Insurrection and Nemesis -- not to mention the last two horrid TV series.
Abrams has SAVED Star Trek with this film. Audiences are responding and people are STILL buying tickets.
I don't know how this film could be more successful.
I'm seriously considering buying the 1st season of TOS on Blu-ray...
Dude. Please. Keep it up.

My husband has a grudge match against blu ray; I'm going to have a tug o war on my hands.

We have a perfectly serviceable HD-DVD player sitting in our components chest that isn't getting any less obsolete.
I already warned him today that he might as well start setting his jaw for buying one six months from now when this DVD emerges. He was heard to grumble something about "they better have a cheap one out by then..."
Well, we have an HD-DVD player (and TOS Season 1 in HD-DVD), so that is not the problem. He's grumpy he bought the wrong format. "It's a matter 'o pride!"My husband has a grudge match against blu ray; I'm going to have a tug o war on my hands.
Tell him it's time to throw away the VCR and join the 21st century...
Seriously, aren't the wives usually the frugal, conservative ones?

I understand 12.5 is decent number and a decent 2nd week drop. However, I am saying it is disappointing compared to what most people here on this site were saying. Most people were projectiong 45-50 Million, which obviously will not happen.
Also, It can be compared to Iron Man and Wolverine all day, but if Trek is below 145 Mil after this weekend, It's going to be nearly impossible to make it to 200 Mil.
