11th Doctor Casting announcment tommorow

^I tried a 'quick translate' site which offered me 'panton'. I rejected it in favour of quicquid - 'whatever'. ;)

On the other hand, 'panton' has the benefit of sounding like 'pants' :D

Everything new is pants.

"I've seen fake gods and bad gods and demi gods and would-be gods; out of all that, out of that whole pantheon, if I believe in one thing... just one thing... I believe in pants."

And we're done here. Time to close this thread since it's now completely onto another topic.

I just really hope that that dark and moody promotional art they released for Smith's Doctor won't portend the general tone of Series Five.
I think the new Doctor is going to have to have a dark personality, maybe someone like "Angel" but Angel in S1 & 2 of Buffy, not in the TV series Angel, when he had both more friends & social skills than me.

We know the 11th doc is younger than many of us :p

How many of you are over 900? :wtf:

Yeah that's what makes all this feel like a moot issue to me. I can understand the complaints about the new Superman a few years ago (although I didn't share them), because he was supposed to be older than Reeve and all the other continuity issues there.

But The Doctor has a built in excuse with the regenerations and the fact he's in reality a 900+ year old Time Lord. Even if Smith DID decide to play The Doctor young, the truth of what he really is would still heavily shade the character.

Hey, they changed the mods early this year. Who knew?

Didn't you witness my regeneration? I think I'm the 13th Moderator, now...

As to the topic itself, this change to a new actor is something I will be paying more attention to this time around. It will be interesting to see how Whovians handle the changeover from Tennant, as compared to the switch to Eccleston and then to Tennant himself. There was quite an uproar going from Eccleston to Tennant, but that's settled down... even if in some quarters there are clear lines of demarcation between camps.

It'll be interesting just to see your reaction to the change from Eccleston to Tennant.

my local BBC tv region had his old drama teacher on tonight (said teacher is now living in Taunton, in our region) and he said Matt was 'brilliant' even as a 16 year old kid and that he thinks he's going to be great as the Doctor...

Well that settles it then

<Davros> Yes, Doctor, when I throw this switch my new doomsday device will destroy all the pants in the universe, only then will THE DALEKS REIGN SUPREME!!!! Because they don't need pants you see...

If Davros wanted to take worldwide pants out of commission, then shouldn't he be rumbling toward Dave Letterman?
