11th Doctor Casting announcment tommorow

People whined at first...

Billie - Proved Wrong

Catherine - Proved Wrong

Hell some people said DT could top Chris so, I feel safe MATT SMITH will turn out ok :). Judging him on age, HOW PATHETIC PEOPLE REALLY ARE.

Tom Baker was working at a construction site when he was picked for Who.

He was still an established actor at the time, and he was also forty years old and thus had developed a personality. This kid looks like he just jumped out the window of his girlfriend's house without his pants on after her parents caught him because she was only fifteen.

nice I like it.

I think the show actually gave it away when it started talking about how he was the youngest Doctor ever.

His face has this floopy play dough like feel to it, I think between that & the clips we saw, he just might have something.

I was hoping for someone quite different than DT. This could be him 10 years ago. Scrawny, "pretty" hair... I hope Matt Smith's take of the Doctor sets him far apart from the 10th because the look is too similar to me.

Exactly. They're so scared of losing the teenage girls Tennant brought on board that they went for Tennant 2.0

Moffat has dropped the ball. Each new actor to play the Doctor has always managed to bring their own experience to the role to echo all the previous actors who came before. And this new kid has... what experience? What revealed talent? He's a month younger than me! And not a single notable role to his name. Oh god, I'd rather have Catherine Zeta Jones.

His face is even annoying to look at. He looks like he has down's syndrome, for chrissake. [The phrase is Christsake!] I want to set his face on fire and put the fire out with a hammer.

I just wanted to quote you and give you the award for most fucked up comment in a topic full of fucked up comments!

Cangrats!

do you ever stop complaning, hes not even filmed a scene yet and when Moffat says he played the part well for Audition I will take him at his word over you:rolleyes:

I would hardly call him pretty

can I just say I am glad its not "Chiwetel Ejiofor" because I would never have been able to spell it, Matt Smith is something I can spell.

Bloody hell he is actually like 10 days older than me !!!!
At first I was a little unsure, but after seeing the interview I'm optomistic about him. I think he will bring something diffrent and isn't that what regenerations are all about.

Now will he try and beat Tom Bakers recored :p

Wow.

I think the Internet has just exploded. :bolian:

First impressions: I think they'll get along just fine. I recognise him from "The Ruby in the Smoke" and ITV's "The Championship" [Wrong Matt Smith, you idiot... I think - everyone] OK, I made the last one up.

Personally, I'm thrilled. :) [But you're always thrilled - everyone]

I thought he came across well in the interview. I have confidence he'll be a good choice. That said, I'm not sure how to handle a Doctor actor who is 10 years younger than me... (Tennant being 6 months older I could just about handle!)

And what had David Tennant done, before Doctor Who, really? He was a cameo bad guy in a Harry Potter movie. Now we know what he can do, but then? People were up in arms about him replacing the guy with the crooked nose.

I even remember a few women calling Tennant "weasel features" and that he was ugly. After his first few stories I then had to put up with three years worth of fangirls gushing over how hot Tennant was.

Then there's the whole Catherine Tate "debacle" about how she was supposedly going to be the worst companion ever.

Is there anything more fickle then a fan? Really?

Let's give him a chance and see what he can do. They obviously saw something in him, or he wouldn't have the role.

Agreed, atleast give him his first few stories before declaring "He's ruined Doctor Who!!!111omgomgomg"

You have to admit that would give his face some character.

Can't say I'm thrilled and excited - he looks too young to me (not to mention too young for me ;) ). But hey, I'd never seen Eccleston or Tennant in anything before Doctor Who (I don't watch much). I'll settle for 'wait and see'. I don't think Moffat could afford to take huge risks, so this bloke must have been bloody good at audition.

Very Doctorish hands, I thought. :p
