101 Things We've Learned From TrekLit

196. The TOS Enterprise would routinely be visited by female officers of exquisite beauty, unrivalled skill and intellects at least the equal of Spock's. They would be incredibly popular with the crew, usually with at least one member of the senior staff falling hopelessly in love with them. After playing an integral part in solving the current mission, these people will usually reveal themselves as some sort of secret agent (the crew will bear no grudge upon learning of this deception) and after saying a tearful goodbye to whichever crewmember(s) fell for them, they take their leave, vowing to return one day... (Triangle, Uhura's Song, Demons, Death's Angel etc.)

197. ...but they never do. They were all hunted down and killed by Richard Arnold.

199) nobody is interested in social networking* but people still post on bulletin boards.

*right? or did someone stick one in? "LOL Troi crashed the ship!"

201) everyone in the 24th century calls it 'soccer' even though it's called 'football' in 90% of countries who play the game in the 21st century.

202. Captain Bateson's crew was made up entirely of men, despite all the women we saw on his bridge crew in "Cause and Effect".

203. Despite appearing totally undamaged in "Cause and Effect", the USS Bozemen had just been in a violent battle with Klingons, and was heavily damaged. (Ship of the Line)

But all those countires were wiped clean of life in the third world war, so in the future it's called soccer.

Reed, Scotty, Robert April, Jean-Luc Picard, Miles O'Brien, Uhura, Geordi, the Rozhenkos, Chekov, and every other European and African born character would like a word with you...
