101 Things We've Learned From TrekLit

184) The Federation completely absorbs the military of member worlds into Starfleet while:

a) Starfleet is not a military organisation
b) Member worlds maintain their own militaries/fleets

185)According to Starfleet, they're not a military organization. According non-Starfleet people, they're a military organization.

185 a) According to Starfleet they're not a military organisation, except when they state they're a military organisation.

187. James Kirk's middle initial on the tombstone in "Where No Man..." is "R", because the episode occured in the alternate timeline of Time Track A (Q-Squared).

188. James Kirk's middle initial on the tombstone in "Where No Man..." is "R", becuase of an inside joke between Garry Mitchell and his best friend, James "Raquetball"/"Rhino" Kirk (My Brother's Keeper).

189. Jack Crusher was killed multiple times, but Picard will always remember the day that he almost killed Jack Crusher. Er...Picard was always responsible for sending him to his DOOOOM.

190. Data would occasionally sneak in a contraction when nobody was looking, probably because he was trying to see if anyone cared that he might be evil and from the future. Nobody ever noticed, except once.

191. 'Off' switches can become inconvenient.

192. When faced with a squad of angry Remans who spend their lives in darkness, Starfleet officers will choose to fight in the dark if at all possible. Shining a torch into their eyes would just be uncouth.

193.All alien groundcars must be described as "a silver teardrop."
194.No Starfleet officer has ever met a cave that he didn't like.

195. Genetic Engineering is a reputable, safe, practical science for non-human species. Humans, on the other hand, think it's the devil's own science.

196. The TOS Enterprise would routinely be visited by female officers of exquisite beauty, unrivalled skill and intellects at least the equal of Spock's. They would be incredibly popular with the crew, usually with at least one member of the senior staff falling hopelessly in love with them. After playing an integral part in solving the current mission, these people will usually reveal themselves as some sort of secret agent (the crew will bear no grudge upon learning of this deception) and after saying a tearful goodbye to whichever crewmember(s) fell for them, they take their leave, vowing to return one day... (Triangle, Uhura's Song, Demons, Death's Angel etc.)

197. ...but they never do. They were all hunted down and killed by Richard Arnold.

These are awesome! This thread has me simultanously wanting to and not wanting to read Trek fiction.

Mission Accomplished! :bolian:
