100 Classic Toys

Miss Chicken

Little three legged cat with attitude
Admiral
I just received a copy of 100 Classic Toys and I was wondering if people here could guess what toys are included in the 100. Some of the 100 are generic but most of those listed are branded toys. The vast majority of the toys are from the 20th century. Some board games are included.

Oh also Little People (is that what they were called?) and Hot Wheels. I don't know how specific (or time specific) this is.

Are board games generic or specific? If specific:
Chutes and Ladders
Monopoly
Sorry

There are some specific board games mentioned but strangely none of the three you mentioned. I would have expected Monopoly. I suppose Chutes and Ladders is a later version of Snakes and Ladders?

I will answer the other suggestions soon - I don't like to make 3 posts in a row and the suggestions are coming quickly.

Model trains?
Matchbox/Hot Wheels cars?

with model trains you will have to be more specific

Matchbox Cars - YES - Inventor: Jack Odell 1953
Hot Wheel Cars - YES - Inventor; Elliott Handler 1968 (he was the husband of Barbie's creator)

Oh also Little People (is that what they were called?) and Hot Wheels. I don't know how specific (or time specific) this is.

Hot Wheels - see above
Little People - YES - Inventor not listed. First released by Fisher Price in 1950.

We are now up to 21 of the 100 toys.

Only model train maker I know of is Hornby. Always wanted one; never got one :sigh:

Oh, and Scaletrix?
