Duplicate artists skipped: Brad Paisley ("Kim," "Farther Along," "Flowers," "Make a Mistake," and "Letter to Me")
Favorite of the 10: "You Need a Man Around Here"

I got quite a diverse group this time, and it only has two songs that were radio singles. I do favor Brad Paisley a lot, but it seems odd that I had so many of his to skip this time. I wonder if iTunes' shuffle function is truly random or has other variables that it considers.

The Newman Center Choir track brings back good memories. I was a member of various choirs at that church during college at University of Arizona, and I know all of the people on the CD.

I don't generally like country, but I do love Dwight Yoakam.

Yeah, Dwight's the only one on that list who's represented in my collection (multiple albums, even). Though I do like some old school stuff... Webb Pierce, Lefty Frizzell, and the usual suspects like Johnny Cash and George Jones.

I've had the pleasure of seeing Dwight Yoakam in concert twice. He puts on a great show with no nonsense and just wall-to-wall music.

TODAY'S

"Venus" - THE SHOCKING BLUE
"No Lies" - GRAND FUNK
"Green River" - CREDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL
"Not Alone Anymore" - TSOL
"You're Gonna Miss Me" - 13TH FLOOR ELEVATORS
"Liar, Liar" - THE CASTAWAYS
"Sally" - GRAND FUNK RAILROAD
"I Wanna Grow Up to Be a Politician" - THE BYRDS
"1975 Overture" - IRON BUTTERFLY
"Strawberries are Growing in My Garden" - THE DENTISTS

Here are the first ten tracks that appeared in iTunes DJ feature selecting from all available music.

7. Cant' Stop the Rock - Apollo 440
8. To Her Door - Paul Kelly

10. The Others - TV Rock vs Dukes of Windsor

Pretty much listen to all these songs. I don't have much fluff on my computer as when my old machine died I only moved my 4 star or above music off my iPod to my current machine, so only the half a dozen new albums I have got since that time have complete playlists on my computer.

Another random 10 from me:

1. Strange Magic -ELO
2. Money Talks - AC/DC
3. Don't Make Me Wait -Seal

I'm curious if people are actually listening to the 10 songs or just skipping through and posting a list. My preference is to listen to them because I don't take as much time to just listen to music these days.

I've been going through to find the 10 then going back to listen to them all. Saves leaving the BBS window open for the best part of an hour to type them in.
This is how I go about it as well.

1. Temple Ruins and The Secret Revealed- John Williams (Indiana Jones IV soundtrack)

10. Take the Keys To My Heart- Garth Brooks

I only skipped 2 songs: The Boxmasters' Errol Flynn and Travis Tritt's I Wanna Feel Too Much. I skipped The Boxmasters due to artist repeat, but I skipped Tritt because my mp3 player likes that song and it always shows up within my first 3-4 songs of turning it on.

"Look Some More" is a pretty good song... I like it. Montgomery Gentry's last two albums were pretty good, especially Some People Change. You should check them out.

I'm curious if people are actually listening to the 10 songs or just skipping through and posting a list. My preference is to listen to them because I don't take as much time to just listen to music these days.

I listen to them, too, unless the track really annoys me.

  1. "I Just Don't Know What to Do with Myself" Dusty Springfield

Oh no, I always thought that song was a White Stripes original. Or is it a different song with the same title?

6. "We Care a Lot," Faith No More

I love that song. I used to listen to Faith No More a lot when I was younger.

Here's my list for today:
  • The Beatles - Her Majesty (Abbey Road)
  • The Rolling Stones - The Lantern (The Singles Collection - The London Years 2)
  • David Bowie - Let's Dance (Platinum Collection)
  • The Righteous Brothers - Unchained Melody
  • Paul McCartney - Ram On (Ram)
  • Wings - Loup (1st Indian On The Moon) (Red Rose Speedway)
  • Hildegard Knef - Lass Mich Bei Dir Sein
  • The Kinks - Set Me Free (You Really Got Me)
  • Frijid Pink - Put It In Your Pocket (All Pink Inside)
  • Do Make Say Think - You, You're Awesome

I excluded two more songs by Paul McCartney and one by the Beatles.

  1. "I Just Don't Know What to Do with Myself" Dusty Springfield

Oh my, I'm getting old... That's a Burt Bacharach/Hal David song from the '60s. The definitive version IMO -- as usual, again IMO -- was by Dionne Warwick. The Springfield version is really good, too, and I think was recorded first. Elvis Costello used to do it live, too.

Here's another spin:

1. Sam & Dave, "Can't You Find Another Way"
2. The Band, "The Shape I'm In"
3. Mike Post w/ Larry Carlton, "Theme from Magnum P.I."
4. The Flying Burrito Brothers, "Sin City"
5. Woody Guthrie, "Dirty Overhalls"
6. Hüsker Dü, "What's Going On"
7. Joe Ely, "Honky Tonk Masquearde"
8. The Beat Farmers, "Riverside"
9. John Doe & the Sadies, "Before I Wake"
10. The Minutemen, "Toadies"
