id you watch the Alternative Election Night on Channel 4? Well, it is to return to our screens as a regular show under the title 10 O’Clock Live. The good news is that it features Lauren Laverne, Charlie Brooker and David Mitchell. The bad news is that Jimmy Carr has been signed up as well.
I saw a AD for this but it did not say when it was on.
I'm guessing it will be on next week because this week shameless is on all week.

I look forward to it because well Charlie Brooker normally = funny and the rest of the cast should be great too, I really enjoyed the election night show they did.

it airs Thu 20 Jan, 10PM.

I saw a review of the pilot they did in front of an audience in December and it gave a good idea how the different presenters fit into the show.

Jimmy Carr: He's the main host, he introduces the show with topical humour on the week's news and he does John Stewart-like interviews with authors and whatnot.

David Mitchell: He chairs a debate/discussion with a panel of experts on the topic and uses this as an opportunity to go on one of his trademark rants.

Charlie Brooker: He does a Newswipe-like segment on a story from the week, and in the pilot this led into David Mitchell's segment with Charlie sitting on the panel. I'm not sure if Brooker is going to set up Mitchell's segment every week or it that was just a once-off.

Lauren Laverne: She interacts with the audience and asks for their opinions as well as reading messages on twitter.

At the end of the episode they all sit around a table discussing the next day's newspaper headlines.

Basically, it seems like it's going to be the Alternative Election Night minus the election. I'll watch it for Brooker and Mitchell, but I'm not sure if Jimmy Carr is up to the task of being the British John Stewart. But then again, John Stewart might not have appeared to be up to the task of being John Stewart until he tried it. ;)

Aha, I was wondering when this was gonna be on. Their election night show was the only good thing to come from that night, so im looking forward to this.

We need a Daily Show style thing, haven't had one since The Late Edition, which was good but didn't seem to be on for very long.

Looks like another winner.

Wow with this and you have been watching, CSI on Five and Five USA,criminal Minds on Channel one, The IT crowd on STV, Hustle, Dr who and screen wipes on the BBC, I'm being spoiled for viewing choice this year. :)

!!!!!!!???!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!

WHAT THE FUCK?!

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGH!!!!!!

Now where the hell am I gonna watch Trek all day?!

I got CBS action as a part of Virgin. Some obscure channel number though. Also, Channel One really got me into Enterprise. Balls.

Enterprise is £10/season at the minute on Amazon. I picked up the complete series recently.

I thought the first episode was pretty decent. The Brooker and Mitchell sections were definitely the stand-out bits of the show. The Americanised News bit was weak, but I can forgive it cause it's only the first episode.

Definitely off to a good start, though. Looking forward to next week's edition.
