Since I have already posted the typical tabletop/ cluttered background pictures, now It's time to have fun!

Yep. There was a mini-poster that was included with the original release of the soundtrack back in 1979 that looked almost exactly like this.Looks almost like an effects shot done with the TMP movie model.
I think I still have that somewhere.

Definitely! I expect the sun to flare upon the horizon just as it did in the movie!
I'm stunned at the number of hours that build represents.
I did a quick video replicating the launch sequence from The Motion Picture. Nothing fancy, shot in front of a black drop cloth. Once the model is 100% complete, I plan on making another video, much more accurate.

You gotta take that thing to WonderFest.
When you do your new video, be sure to slo-mo the lighting of the dish, so it has that warm-up quality from the original.
