1/24 Scale N-Type Shuttlecraft

AdmiralBuck

I thought I'd share the progress on the 1/24 scale model of my N-Type shuttlecraft design. Originally conceived as an advanced small craft for the Sentinel-class light cruiser program, I've been adding these to all of my starship hangar inventories. This model is being scratch built from sheet styrene, brass, resin cast, 3D printed and laser cut acrylic components.

It starts with a few fragments of twisted styrene ... Buck posts some pictures of what it's supposed to be and you just can't help but chuckle. "Yeah, right, in your dreams." But you scroll down and see there are more pictures than you expect; the styrene is taking surprising shape fast, and suddenly it clicks: it's that guy with the Pierce Brosnan in uniform avatar. Uh oh. This is going to be good!

That's a fine looking shuttle! I think it's my favorite.. I really like the aesthetic design on this. I'd love to see that applied to a full size starship as well.

looks like you put in a toilet, like the ones on an airliner! Good job, shuttles have always confused the hell out of me with that.. I was always thinking "Do they transport human waste into space from the passengers bodies?" lol

I just presumed that the waste was broken down into it's basic organic compounds or elements... Carbon, Nitrogen, Oxygen, etc... some of those elements can be used for something aboard the vessel.

That's correct, there is a cabin restroom aboard. There is a deliberate mix of 2001/Trek design styling.
