#Checking out the shitstorm about Klingons in skirts

I genuinely don’t even get why the skant is catching all the heat when those shoes are right there.

I mean, have we seen them? They look like oversized, bucket-shaped toddler coffins. Absolutely tragic. The skant is just minding its business while those monstrosities stomp around committing fashion crimes. Guilty on all counts.

But sure, the skant is the problem.

The Par'Mach'kyle is super hot and cute and adorable and like a golden lab.

There. I said it.

Wow, I didn't notice before but what are those, three inch lifts?

I reluctantly concede that there is a vibe between Genesys and Caleb.

But I guess it's not surprising - they're nominally set up from the beginning as sorta-kinda with other people. It is de riguer for YA drama for there to be some, uh, crossed stars.

Yeah but I like that they ultimately had Genesis pretty much say 'Yeah there's a vibe but we're just friends' and choose a friendship with Tarima over competing with her for a guy. Any other YA show would have had Genesis and Tarima become rivals for Caleb's affections. It's a trope I detest and I'm glad they went with subverting it by having a male and female character with an obvious attraction be friends and two female characters choose each other instead of a man.

It's the 32nd century, they could have just had them share.

lol then who would be the summer roberts and seth cohen of star trek starfleet academy
That one's harder.

If the title of Seth Cohen just goes to the biggest dork, then obviously that's Sam. And since Summer was the silver-spoon princess who was originally mean but turned out to have hidden depths, maybe that's Darem. As the second-dorkiest character, Ocam could be Anna.

However, Darem's frat boy vibes and peripheral nature in many of the early plots make him seem more like a Luke.

Nahla Ake is, of course, Sandy Cohen, and the Doc is probably Kirsten.
