‘Twin Peaks’ Returns As Showtime Limited Series

I watched the entire series and the movie earlier this year. At first I didn't know what to make of it all but by early Season 2 I was hooked. I just loved everything about Twin Peaks and was elated to find out it's returning. It's sad Sheriff Truman and The Log Lady won't be part of the new season but there are so many weird and wonderful characters in TP that it can still thrive. I do reserve the right to be cautious about this actually happening. There have been false starts and postponements since it was announced. I'll believe it when I see it on my screen.

David Lynch didn't want to reveal the killer there, the network made him. Then he was less involved after that. In the new series he reportedly has full creative control.

If you think nothing happened in the pilot you're watching it wrong. It's stylized and introduces the setting and characters. It's structured to show you the 'Quaint mountain town' and then introduce you to its dark side. The entire point is that it appears like a normal town to outsiders at first glance before you learn the secrets symbolized by Laura.

If you expected some guy to stand up and lay out his evil plans and Cooper to dodge a barrage of bullets for it to be considered exciting, maybe you should be watching exposition driven shows only.

Teaser...of sorts.

Curious who the final figure might be. Thought it might be Lynch :)

Please God,let's hope things get resolved this time.
That final Dale/Bob mirror scene has haunted me for years!

I would call Twin Peaks more of a supernatural fantasy-- unless they are explaining all of the shenanigans as alien technology or something. Then I'd classify it more as soft SF or science fantasy, depending on how it's handled. But, in any case, it would fall more under the general heading of fantasy or surrealism.

Really? I've come to the realization that Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me provides at least enough clarity to the fate of Coop. Was there anything else left over story wise left dangling?

"Where's Annie? Where's Annie?"

Clarity? I thought 'David Lynch' and 'clarity' were oxymorons.

Good point - what am I saying?
"A couple more traffic lights and a white horse. That'll do it!" - DL on clarity

Kimmy Robertson is back. She was my favorite. :rommie:

And Cynthia Lauren Tewes? Is that Lauren Tewes from Love Boat? Or maybe her daughter?
