‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ Actress Melissa Navia Signs With Innovative Artists

Changing agencies does not mean she's leaving the cast. All it means is that she has a new team negotiating for her when it's time to figure out contracts.

I will say, though, that I can see her as the most expendable character (besides Hemmer, and don’t get me started about that), as she’s had extremely minimal character development other than the ‘tell, not show’ variety.

Allegedly they were set to film 2 weeks after the writers strike started, so contracts for Season 3 would have already been done.

I don't know if the actors strike changes that.

I'm telling you, I agree wholeheartedly, she'll be the expendable one in the first episode which will be a catastrophic episode to say the least in however it turns out. Bring in Gary Mitchell as a precursor to Sulu several years later. It's bound to happen eventually, right?

Well, she is wearing a red shirt.

I don't know if changing agencies is a sign of her fate or not.

I hope she's not a goner. I really like her character. She's one of the very few Starfleet officers we have seen across all shows who truly loves their job. It's very refreshing, and it sets her apart from everyone else.

We honestly need more characters who love their Starfleet job like she does. She brings a kind of spark that is unique to her. SNW would definitely be missing a piece of their puzzle if she were killed off.

Actors change representation agencies all the time. With regards to her Strange New Worlds contract, it would be the case that her previous agency still gets its percentage because the deal was made while she was represented by them. And that's also something the new agency would take into account when offering their representation of her so it's no big deal.

I thought she was going to die in the season finale. I was so sure I wrote it down.

I fear she may still go. I hope not. At least not yet.
