Who doesn't cry from that thing? jms was going for that exact effect, utilizing everything including the musical score. As far as "In The Beginning" goes, it really should be seen post season 4. Go for something like "Severed Dreams", or "The Coming of Shadows".

You're forgetting the Black Omega squadron. And that was just the squadron known to the public. If they had mother ships and shuttles floating in hyperspace, it's not a far stretch to go that they had several starfury squadrons to defend those ships, as seems to be standard EA tactical policy...

I'll definitely be tivoing one or both shows. I like NCIS. I really enjoy the characters interaction, and it thankfully lacks the heaviness present on the CSI shows.

I think it was important to not have Santiago killed off early season one. B5 was a whole new universe. We needed to get a sense of what normal was before everything goes all to hell.

Many people forget that B5 was one of the first tv series to make so much use of cgi. There were many who actually criticized the show for not using models. As I watch the show over 15 years later I think the effect hold up pretty well. And the story continues to amaze.
