  1. The Wormhole

The purpose of the original DS9 uniforms

The gray shoulder FC uniform was issued several months before the Dominion War began or before the Dominion even had a presence in the Alpha Quadrant. Indeed, the first episode on DS9 to use those uniforms is the one wear Sisko has a vision of the future of "locusts which appear to be headed to...

The purpose of the original DS9 uniforms

...with the TNG style hanging on at major facilities and bases, and the more prestigious ships that could swing exceptions. Then with the dominion war they had to retire that for a new style that was more durable and better suited to wartime conditions. One that stuck around for a long while...

Caldos - Tiny Trek Comic 01

According to the cancelled Dominion War Sourcebook, Yes it was. http://stevenslong.squarespace.com/star-trek-rpg-free-supplements/;jsessionid=22B52DB978DD96AF6EF4DDC978A6A398.v5-web010 Page 165 they list out the Eighth Fleet, which I used as a basis but changed some ship classes and other...

    General Trek Questions and Observations

Worked better than all of NuTrek combined even SNW. > Made to go against the Borg > Fail at first engagement Very bad for the Feds.

    General Trek Questions and Observations

All hail the Borg. No, wait, fuck that. The Borg were the worst excess of fan service in a season brimming with it. Yet stood up to Dominion and Cardassian warships so again a move towards better defenses. Not bad for an exploratory agency.

    General Trek Questions and Observations

...the Feds do fuck all for any defensive measures. But they didn't. They could have infiltrated Starfleet or positions of powers for years without detection. Which means the Dominion are just as stupid as the Borg, Cardassians, Klingons and Romulans. Thank God some of it was fixed for Picard S3.

    Re-Watching DS9

...no other Jem'Hadar that any DS9 crew had ever come across before. And that also happens to be the twist in the plot. They wanted out of the Dominion because they wanted to free themselves from their lives as slaves of the Founders. We hadn't seen that before. An independent minded Jem'Hadar...

Confederacy as Commentary on How Bad the Prime Universe Could Be

...as a negative for the federation, both in terms of visuals and in outcome. in both the short term and the long term. even their stuff in the dominion war was to the net deteriment of the federation. the changeling virus didn't really change how the war was progressing, the federation was...

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

Point being, the Federation and Starfleet have no issue violating the Prime Directive when it suits their needs. I find the "we must allow people to die" so as to not violate it to be incredibly hypocritical.

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

That's true. It's interesting to note though that the movie takes place when the Dominion War I think was still happening. At this point we are years from the TNG time period. I feel like the Federation lost it's way in many things during that war. They also looked the other way when Sisko...

    Militia

...During TOS, with internal tensions high and conflict with the Klingons never far away, planetary reserves seem likely. Following the Dominion War, likewise. During First Season TNG when the Federation hasn't had a major conflict in ages? Far less likely that there's a Reserve system in...

YES - Close to the Edge: Star Beagle Adventures episodes 12 - 19

...why we are out here? To make sure that first contact with powerful alien cultures is not mishandled so we don’t get into something like the Dominion War again.” Commodore Yui Song was coldly furious. Her tone was calm, but her icy glare would have withered even the emotionless former...

...were planned. They disliked having a war as part of the series. I know there are still people who dislike it. From my perspective, the Dominion war helped the franchise have a larger footprint, addressing larger issues that can't be reduced just to egos and hurt feelings. Although I think the...

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

I don't think it's controversial. But I'm thankful we got as many as six episodes - over on Voyager they were only allowed a two-parter for Year of Hell. At the time that kind of arc was unprecedented. They did get to devote a third of the final season to the closing serialised arc.

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

I don't know if it's controversial, but I certainly believe it was wrong of Paramount/Berman to restrict the Dominion occupation of Deep Space Nine to six episodes. I think Ira Stephen Behr wanted to do a season-long arc, and the studio wanted the occupation wrapped up by the first two. The...
