What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

Kira being on the Defiant made sense more often than not. Looking at her appearances on the bridge of the Defiant before the Dominion War... "THE SEARCH, PART I" - that mission would directly affect Bajor, as the wormhole is in their system. "PAST TENSE" two-parter - Kira being one of the...

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

Protecting the Emissary is probably the best argument she has for that.

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

...Deep Space Nine to be guarded with a skeleton crew. To that end, I always found Kira's presence on the Defiant peculiar. Even before the Dominion War, she's a major/colonel in the Bajoran militia going out into deep space on Starfleet missions that have nothing to do with Bajoran interests.

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

Three things. First, it's quite likely Sisko was ineligible for promotion during the Dominion War due to him being directly responsible for keeping the Bajorans from joining the Federation. (Admiral Whatley said, "I could have your commission for this." Could very well have been a formal...

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

During the Dominion War Sisko should have been promoted to the lowest rank of admiral and then to the next higher Admiral rank and then even higher and so on with a promotion every few months. By the time of "Sacrifice of Angels" Sisko would hav ehad to be the equivalent of a six star or seven...

    Dominion "Locusts"... Different Time?

I always thought the Dominion ships were the locusts Sisko mentioned. It certainly makes logical sense. But apparently that wasn’t the case. The DS9 Companion book mentions that they were going to make an episode about actual space locusts, which ultimately didn’t happen. Which was a good thing...

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

They would have lost the Dominion war if Riker kept using the Picard method, unless he had Guinan to tell him to throw out the book.

Why did the changelings all look similar?

...that you share the Odo mimicry theory! Maybe it was the normal conclusion to arrive at for most viewers. I found that Laas (that other non-dominion changeling) had an interesting appearance, I liked how he carried some of the traits (unique forehead wrinkles- as always) of the aliens he...

How many timelines have there been where Earth has been conquered by aliens? (contains spoilers)

...timeline Enterprise to the 24th century where Earth and the Federation have been conquered by Klingons. At some point in the history, the Dominion invaded the Alpha Quadrant, conquering the Cardassian Union and starting a war with the Klingons and Romulans. Romulus was destroyed by the...

Are there any good reasons to not want to be in the Federation?

Agreed. It explains why the ban was lifted during the Dominion War when the Romulans joined the fight. (Per "INTER ARMA ENIM SILENT LEGES".)

    Dominion "Locusts"... Different Time?

Something occured to me while I was responding to something else in another thread. The 2,600 Jem'Hadar ships that were stopped by the Prophets in "SACRIFICE OF ANGELS"... what if they were the actual 'locusts' that Sisko saw in his vision in "RAPTURE", and not the ones seen a few episodes...

    Re-Watching DS9

...Federation thinks, they just want to fight. I think if they really want to fight, they should just go to the Gamma Quadrant to fight the Dominion directly, but I don't think Gowron wants to do that. He wants the easy victories, so it's easier for him to bully everyone else. Gowron...

Why does Daystrom have Kirk's body?

...something like those structures around the saucer if they can simply lift it into space with a tractor beam? The Defiant alone salvages a Dominion ship that way which is also embedded into rock. Granted that ship is considerably smaller, but for the Cerritos the task would definitely be trivial.

...intro, but it shows how much more active the station has become and how much more important it is as the first line of defense against the Dominion. Last but not least, the introduction of Worf to DS9. Upfront, I might as well get this out of the way: I think it's great to have Worf on...
