I think it is great that Star Trek is evolving with the audience. I accept that my Star Trek may not be the Star Trek that today's audience wants, and that's OK. I didn't love Disco. I like SNW but I do miss the round the table problem solving episodes. SNW has that from time to time, and it was...
The cover for Pliable Truths is consistent with the cover for Shadows have Offended since both look like watercolored covers. I'm guessing S&S is going for a certain look for the new standalone TNG novels.
That said, the cover for Lost to Eternity looks much better.
The timeline as laid out at the outset of CODA 1: Moments Asunder really helped me build a conceptual understanding of the timeline since the end of Berman-era trek.
It helped me pick Headlong Flight as my current read.
Thanks- the TrekLit guide you wrote up helps quite a bit.
I've read a few novels in the TrekLit universe, but I'm selective about it. Takedown by John Jackson Miller is one I've read. Losing the Peace is another. I try to read novels that are ship-in-a-bottle novels.
I just finished Chain of...
Are there any recent standalone TNG novels set during the 7 season run on TV?
It's a little confusing with the newer novels, with newer characters I'm not familar with. Like the TOS novels that tend to be set during the original 5 year mission, I'd like to pick up a TNG novel that is set during...
Yeah, that was probably Mr. Stinky Pants. He was quite insistent that anything post-gene death was not Star Trek. He also considered Star Trek TOS to TMP to be pure Star Trek with anything after TMP more like Star Trek "lite".
We are now well into January, with no release date other than "February 2022". Has there been a specific date announced, or is there an announcement forthcoming?
Star Trek 2009 also did this too, with Kirk suddenly becoming the captain of the flagship of Starfleet, after he was fresh out of the academy, unlike in TOS when it was established that he was the #1 on the Farragut prior to serving on the Enterprise.
??? I thought that the entire first season was awesome, and I loved the finale. I haven't read the BS negative nancy posts in this thread because I liked what I saw in the episodes, especially tonight.
But I'm also realistic. The reality is that the outbreak of COVID-19 has brought many...
Nothing? I'm surprised!
Still hasn't shown any pictures of the supposed restoration nor has Huston reveled specifics.
I'm really surprised that no one who has donated has spoken up. Huston just made $80,000+ on a kickstarter that was linked to by Takei, and no one notices the personal use of...
An article outlining some of the allegations by the volunteers who worked on the TNG bridge restoration.
http://arstechnica.com/business/2014/04/no-romulans-just-angry-volunteers-one-mans-journey-to-restore-star-treks-bridge/
Is it just me, or does it seem like the project never makes any progress? Myself and several others have been banned from the Bridge Restoration FB page for pointing this out. One person wrote a lengthy post on the Bridge restoration page about how she thought Huston was scamming everyone and...
