    Level One Diagnostic

I'm okay with it :) (It was a stupid question anyway - but I just LOVE O'Brien!)

STO: The Needs of the Many cover.

Do people really want this book? Considering how often Pocket Books tell us they have limited publication space in their schedules, wouldn't we rather have another book based on one of the series (seeing as we don't get many these days anyway)? I'm sure it'd sell better than a book based on a...

    Level One Diagnostic

How many episodes do you think Miles O'Brien says the words "Level One Diagnostic" ? Seems to be almost every one.

    Book Recommendations for Newbie?

Yes - you can start by reading one of the other hundreds of threads asking what book first-timers should read.

Any mention of Data in post-Nemesis novels?

Lol! But I'm worried people aren't taking my comment in the sarcastic tone in which it was meant :bolian:

How can the original timeline still exist?

KottenFutz - It just makes things easier, doesn't it? To go from Enterprise, to TOS, to TNG... it just doesn't fit anymore (unfortunately), but if you place Enterprise after ST:FC, sort of like a whole new universe, it fits in much better. Of course, a lot of fans won't agree with that, but...

How can the original timeline still exist?

I hadn't thought of that, but I think it's a great explanation! And a great way of fitting Enterprise into the whole of Star Trek. Reeves-Stevens' Federation would still fit then (for the most part), and Year One, and other books. Also, it would suggest that Abrams' Trek was already around, and...

The 82nd Academy Awards & STAR TREK

Hardware? Ha! :guffaw: The Oscars are a complete joke. They have absolutely no bearing on whether a film is good or not, and are just about fleeting popularity, and how much Hollywood loves itself.

Any mention of Data in post-Nemesis novels?

Just to step back a few paces (although not *quite* on topic) Data is dead. Yes, we miss him, but that's all part of loving him too - to miss him now that he has gone. If Data is brought back, why not just bring everyone back? Bring back Khan, bring back Yar, bring back Jadzia, bring back...

    Chekov?

Who cares? Just watch and enjoy.

What purpose does the big picture window on the bridge serve?

Or perhaps they could just stop thinking of people who watch tv as being total idiots. That was holographic? I always thought it looked like the screen was just made to blend in with the wall - a bit like a "screensaver". Kind of makes my first point bite me on the ass! :bolian:

    New Frontier Question

Why have you put your New Frontiers just after your Vanguards? (And don't you just hate it when shelving units force some of your books to come further forward than others!)

    TNG Era Voyages

indianatrekker26 - Big Peter David fan? Have you been reading New Frontier as well?

What purpose does the big picture window on the bridge serve?

It izzum telly vision show. Why are there windows on a modern day battleship? I'm sure there are instruments that could tell them the weather, and radar to tell them where other ships and land would be...

"Show Used" Dilithium Crystals - scam?

    I wouldn't trust it.

    Borg v Changeling

I'm sure it could be written either way - that it is impossible for the Borg to assimilate a Changeling, and that it is. Either way, I would love to see what a Borg-Changeling could do, and what it would mean for the Borg/against the Federation!

    Q power riker

Yes, I think that's exactly the sort of thing Q would do, for a number of reasons: 1) it might amuse him, 2) it might annoy other Q, and that would amuse him, 3) he might be interested to see what happens in the long run, 4) or he might be so indifferent to Riker having powers that he might not...

Do repeated viewings of Star Trek 09 hold up so far?

A fantastic explanation :D and perfectly understandable. I can certainly empathize with it, when it's explained so well. Good job. :bolian: (I don't understand peoples' obsessions with football, either, or the need to work out exact lengths of the Enterprise, or the desperation to make all...

Do repeated viewings of Star Trek 09 hold up so far?

LOL!!!!!! No, that's not what I'm saying, I'm saying why watch it constantly for days (as people have done here - 12 viewings and it only came out a week ago!). With a running time of 122 minutes (just over 2 hours) - that's 24 hours worth of sitting in front of the tv watching the same movie...

Do repeated viewings of Star Trek 09 hold up so far?

Why watch the same film over and over and over again? I loved the film as much as the next guy, but seriously. Go for a walk, or something. Read a book. When I buy it (currently waiting to see if I get it for Christmas) I'll watch it once, then save it for some other time.
