Could have been original script material that made it into the DC Comics adaptation but never made it on film. That happens a lot with movie comics and toys.
It's from the novelisation. Link.I wonder if that was in the DC Comics adaptation? I clearly remember there being some dialogue to that effect, coming from somewhere?
Oh, yes.I think of us as something of a family. Kind words can sometimes do wonders for a person’s outlook on life.

Me too. It plays right into what we've always known about McCoy since TOS. A man with a playful twinkle in his eye who likes to take gentle, loving pokes at his friends. I'm not necessarily against the novelization context, but it's not as good as McCoy deciding to play a practical joke on Spock before they all beamed down to Earth for shore leave.I like the idea of McCoy playing a prank and altering an info file so much better, whether it's in an early screenplay draft or not.

I'm over hearing how canon needs "respecting." It doesn't need any such thing.

The Star Trek Writers Guide for TOS - Roddenberry's own words - specifies that Starfleet is military.Ok can we move on from KRB forgiveness issues and go to back to more interesting controversial topics like you know the military, money and Klingon foreheads? Cheers
My controversial Star Trek opinion is that I'm surprised no one has made a new 'Is Starfleet a Military?' thread yet. Even if it's just to keep the subject safely contained.
And each cadet costs credits according to TOSThe Star Trek Writers Guide for TOS - Roddenberry's own words - specifies that Starfleet is military.
And did. Terry has said her uniform was padded.Ridiculous premise. Wardrobe can make someone exactly as "busty" as producers ask.
In Spock's case, millions of them.
One hundred twenty two thousand two hundred...
