Well, that's unfortunate. That kind of game really should have a more definite ending. Maybe they were hoping for a sequel to pick up where it left off, like Mankind Divided did with Human Revolution.

Recently finished both Like A Dragon and Infinite Wealth and really enjoyed them. Though fair warning on Infinite Wealth - make sure you're not underleveled going in to the final boss fight. You'll think its fine because the thugs and mobs are several levels below the boss as you climb the tower but when you get to the boss it can be a real PITA depending on what jobs/careers you have. It's really the only fight in the game where you might have to pay attention to whether or not the boss is weak to specific damage types.

First time I went into Millennium Tower (and it's a long climb to the top fighting hordes of baddies - on par with the dungeons), I found my party was severely under leveled (boss is at 52) and that the job skills didn't match what he was weak to (and his weaknesses change at different phases of the fight). I tried a few times and wound up quitting because I was getting nowhere and there was no option to just travel out and come back without losing progress. It was the final fight and it really made me not want to finish the game because I knew I was going to have reload old saves and go through several levels of grinding plus fight my way back up to the boss again. And apparently I'm not the only one this happened to. The fight is different enough from the rest of the game that a lot of players wound up in the same mess.

I gave it a few days and loaded an old save and tried to tie up any easy things I'd left undone but it was frustrating to be in that situation given how many waves you have to fight through to get to the boss. It's a great game otherwise so save yourself the frustration. You might get lucky and have to right jobs/skills combos to defeat the boss despite being underleveled but if not it's so annoying to have to redo so much when you know you're at the very end of the game.

Oh and currently.... started a new Elden Ring playthrough when I got frustrated with the aforementioned final boss fight in Infinite Wealth (yeah, I know how that sounds but it made sense to me at the time lol) and have just beaten Renala (sp?) but having played through ER a few times now, I got a bit bored figuring out where I should go and what to do next. So I've put ER on hold as I play Banishers which has been great so far.

Banishers is set in the same overall world as Vampyr though the only real connection to it so far is via the fact that one character is connected to St. Paul of the Stole. It's a perfect AA game and the devs are proud of the fact that it's a AA game. It's the type of game that the gaming industry honestly needs more of. Far from perfect but there's a depth to the world that a lot of games are missing. It's on sale right now in the Playstation store though it doesn't seem like much of a cut given it's where it should've been without the recent price hikes.

And on that note.... lemme say console gaming is MORE expensive than PC at this point. What you save on a system build is being absolutely devoured once you buy a few overpriced games and past that point you're paying more (sometimes a ton more) each game you buy. (And on that point Banishers regular price on Steam is currently lower than the sale price on console and Steam is hardly the lowest price PC retailer). /rant

Not to derail this thread but what ways are there to save costs for console games? Obvious one is to have one with an optical drive for which you buy second hand games via Ebay or somewhere else but do Sony or XBox offer AAA games at reduced prices or sales?

I mostly buy my PC games off Steam and you can save quite a lot, usually at least 10-20% when buying Steam Keys from Key vendors ( legally i might add) even for new titles and Steam regularly has sales events hat offer games with up to 90% discount. Also even AAA titles get discounted after a while after the initial hype is over, you just have to be patient and can pick up such games for half price after a few months.

I beat the final boss. It lets you keep exploring the world afterward, but I'm sick of this and I'm never playing it again.

So, I finished the main game and you weren't kidding. It feels like the game is leading up to the next plot-point in the story, then just ends, and then throws up a long broadcast at the end to explain the events of the game. "We're going to meet the big boss! Except we're not because it ends here!" Huh? It feels like maybe the developers were told to wrap things up and end it before they really meant to. Working on the extra content now.

Just started Ghost of Tsushima on PC and i really like it.

I am very early on so still unlocking basic things as i play through the story and mini-tutorials ( i love it when games wrap the tutorials into the story and general gameplay). Looks awesome but also extremely bloody.

That's all well and good, but I wasn't talking about Metal Gear. I was talking about Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Konami wasn't even involved in that one.

Fair enough. I've never really played the Metal Gear games beyond the 4th one on PS3.

Just got Breath of the Wild. Very frustrating and challenging game. Quite the time sink.

Hellblade II, i cannot believe the visual quality on this game, stunning, think it may actually be the first next gen game for these new consoles, and the audio is even better than the first game, a game you need to play with headphones.

I cannot imagine what these gaming devs would be able to do with a Tomb raider game with this level of visual detail.

They could make a really cool Lara Croft that's what.

Playing Horizon Zero Dawn and who is Aloy talking to when she says "easy now easy" if you move too fast downhill?

Wouldn't it be immersion breaking if she's talking to you to slow her down?

If they could bring the visuals in this game to a TR game, it might be too realistic for a TR game, as imagine the blood and body horror of a injured Lara with this games impressive visuals, might need a sick bag handy. Lo!

I think she's talking to herself. She often makes offhand comments about various things, often to nobody in particular. In this case, it's just her way of telling herself to take it easy.

Btw, I finished the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided DLCs. The first one was so short it felt more like a teaser or demo for the game. The best one was easily the one set at the prison, in fact I found myself imagining the developers starting the game off at the prison or at least some version of it. That mission and the one set at the bank both felt like they should have been part of the game.

    Now I'm onto Dishonored 2.
