No. The force doesn't really work that way. It's not a superpower, it's a primordial force in the universe as old as life itself. The Jedi were neither the only, nor the first to learn to wield it, nor is their interpretation the "correct" one. That it's true nature is a mystery is kind of the whole point.
But someone must of discovered it for the first time. Maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way. It's not the origin of the force I'm curious about, but the Origin of the Jedi and how they first discovered the force and how to use it.
As far as I know, nothing we have gotten so far in the Disney canon as gone that far back, at least nothing on screen or in the books and comics I've read. The stuff I've seen and read has given bits and pieces of history, but nothing that really goes beyond this event happened so many years ago, or this temple was from this era. So far we've gotten one character played by their voice actor and one who wasn't so I wouldn't count on it. I have a feeling if we see other major Rebels character, like Sabine, Ezra or Thrawn, they're probably going to go for bigger names like they did with Rosario Dawn as Ahsoka. I could maybe see Lars Mikkelsen coming back as Thrawn since he's a bigger name, but I have a feeling Ezra and Sabine are going to be recast if they appear. If you have Disney+ they're all on there, or they're also available to purchase on disc or digital. They were still cleaning up the last bits and pieces of the First Order at the end of The Rise of Skywalker, so they could focus on that, or their are probably still gangs and pirates around causing trouble. They could introduce some totally new different, enemy we haven't seen before. The end of TROS opens up tons of possibilities.
Being in-tune with the force isn't something that gets "discovered", it's the default state for all living things. Some have a stronger natural connection that comes with a high M-count (or because of it, that relationship may not be so simple.) Where sentient life in particular seems to become disconnected from the force is precisely because of their conscious and unconscious minds. An animal has no ego, no aspiration, no jealousies, no sense of possession, so they (mostly) exist in a state of natural harmony and balance. This is why Jedi are trained young. The older you are, the more you get in your own way. Children are more naturally open and accepting. This is why we see younglings that can already do certain things seemingly without effort; it takes a lot of effort and focus for a mature mind to get itself back into that open state; to "unlearn". They've understandably left the origins of the Jedi Order alone for now until there's an actual story to tell. I think the general notion though is that they started out as monks; anchorites studying the mystery of the force. Slowly, over time and generations of study and meditation they peeled back some of the mysteries, learning how to quiet their minds and reach out. I have a lot of personal theories on what happens next, but suffice to say they probably didn't start out as the Jedi we saw in the PT, or even what we will see in the High Republic. Finding the correlation between natural powerful individuals and high M-counts probably came later; the lightsabers, the role of protectors and negotiators also probably came later, by increments, over the course of millennia. I'm sure they'll get to it eventually, though I hope they do a better job than the EU's "Dawn of the Jedi" because that was just dire and utterly uninspired. It shouldn't be like some superhero origin story. It's a religion after all, not 'The Superfriends'.
I watched the Season 3 episode where Ahsoka and Padme try to reach out to the separatists to broker a peace agreement and Corosant gets attacked. I have to say there was something very different about that episode from anything that came before, and I actually liked it. For one, they changed Ahsoka's attire and actually made her taller and more mature, but there was also an urgency and something personal about this episode that I haven't felt in any of the prior episodes. @Reverend said I was close to a turning point in the series and I have to wonder if that was it. I think that's the first episode I can say I really really liked. Yeah there were some episodes (like Cad Bane's first appearance) that I liked, but this episode felt different. Hopefully that's the kind of quality I can expect going forward. I'm watching the very next episode and Padme's speech to defeat the bill to deregulate the banks and fund more troops is the very moment I've been waiting for in this series. I wish our politicians made speeches like that.
I watched through the Nightsisters arc, and something in this series just snapped. This is not the same show I just spent 2 and a half weeks watching. The introduction of Savage Opress really has risen the stakes and it really does feel like I'm watching an entirely different show. For the first time since I saw the Mandalorian Ahsoka episode, I'm excited for the future of The Clone Wars. Whatever happened between the first two and 10 episodes of season 3 and what came after, keep it up. I even forgot this was a kids show.
I don't think it's an explicit time-skip persee, as much as an acknowledgment that time has passed since the premier, so they switched models. In a live action show, the actress would have aged gradually, but being that this is animation it's just not feasible to slightly alter the model every few episodes so it has to happen all at once.
It'd be smart to set all the TV series in the same time period. Too much of a gold mine to not overlap. Plus it can save money with cross pollination. Let the movies move on to to their own universe or same universe only decades later. Leave the multiple TV series as their own playground that can intermingle. TV could even set up future movies (or, vice versa, if the speculation is correct and Mando is filling in the gaps leading to the sequel trilogy).
The TV series aren't all going to be set in the same era. The Acolyte is set during the High Republic, Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi are set between The Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, though probably not at the same time, and I'd say there's a pretty good chance the Lando series will probably be set either before Solo or somewhere between it and The Empire Strikes Back. The only shows that will be set at the same as The Mandalorian are Rangers of The New Republic and Ahsoka, and that's only because they are spin-offs.
I'd put money on Lando being after Solo and picking up the plot threads with Maul that were planned for the sequel. Probably will even have Han in an episode.
If it is a gangster underworld type show that would be pretty sweet. And, perfect set up for a Bob A. Feet cameo. Everyone's expecting it now.
Not the worst idea in the world. I definitely turned around on Wheaton since his Big Bang Theory appearances and now his After Trek shows. He went from annoying to somewhat likeable in short 30 years.
Yeah, that probably would be the most likely place for it. I would love to see it follow up and Maul and Qi'ra, I've been wanting to see that story continue since I first saw Solo.
