Then again, buying a zillion units of something that turns out to be a lemon is worse than buying 1/3 zillion of A, B and C each, even with the incompatible spares. Timo Saloniemi
Answered directly in all cases. At this point, with multiple points of evidence directly cited and you burying your head in the sand to cover a mistake (btw not an egregious one) or simply being stubborn, I'll just have to conclude you've lost all credibility here and move on. RAMA
1. No. 2. I'll let a mod deal with your pot-calling-the-kettle-black behavior. 3. You're finally right about one thing: this conversation is over.
All I know is they could have done a better job with what was shown on screen. Hopefully they do better for season 2. And since CBS and Star Trek online have teamed up, they could always use the ship designs that they have in game. Would be a lot easier to render when you have a design already made up, and there’s certainly plenty of options.
I don’t think this fully crosses the line, but I’d recommend disagreeing without being so disagreeable if you want to avoid formal trouble in here.
I don't automatically wish they'd create new designs -- I really like the Luna class and Vesta class designs, for instance. But I do not enjoy most of the Federation starship designs original to Star Trek Online. (I enjoy the game, though. It's fun to serve as commanding officer of the USS Ocasio-Cortez, the USS Bernie Sanders, and the USS Salvador Allende. )
I think a balanced approach is appropriate with both new designs as well as integrating some existing designs.
Yeah maybe I should have clarified, I don't mind them using ships from previous Star Trek shows/movies, but if they're going to use new designs, I don't want them to take them from non-canon sources, create their own.
I just brought up the STO angle from a budget standpoint. It’s obvious they ran out of time and money for some aspects of the show. Being able to pull fully fleshed out ship designs, if only for being a background piece, is far easier when they’re already done. The you can have a massive fleet of multiple ship designs and save yourself a few bucks.
The Fed ships we saw on the show were barely TV/movie quality. Like I said, use those renders for distance stuff or group stuff like what we saw, something where you don’t necessarily need to see every rivet and window on the ship.
If they are not using the same rendering software (a high possibility) then the models would take more time to convert than they had.
