RIP Grace Lee Whitney

Old memento

I hope Shatner, Takei, Nichols and Koenig are around a good while longer. They're all that's left of the original lead and main supporting cast.

She wouldn't be the last space chick with a weird bun hairdo I'd have a crush on; But she was the first.

R.I.P.

I'm so sad to see her go.
I just saw her in "Irma La Duce" with Shirley McClaine. She played a prostitute that was one of Irma's friends. She always wore these huge sunglasses and was a goofball.

Her passing came as surprise to me. For me, she keeps on living the episodes and the movies.

It's a real shame they depicted her character as a glorified secretary, like they depicted Nichelle as a glorified telephone operator.

Goodnight, Grace. You were a wonderful human being. I hope that the undiscovered country is to your liking.

Had she been in poor health lately?
Good Question, does anybody know for sure?

I was lucky enough to meet her last August, and she looked well and was in fantastic spirits, so this news comes as a bit of a shock.

I have to say Grace, apart from being lovely when I met her, was one of those people involved in TOS who's been an inspiration to me.

She lived a life of soaring highs and unbelievable lows, but she always bounced back, and had nothing but enthusiasm for Star Trek and her many fans, despite all the bumps along the way.

It seems she assisted many people with their own difficulties as well.

Wonderful lady. She will be missed.

Met her at a trek convention at Hostra University in 1995.

Was it really 20 years ago? Wow. I remember her as a nice lady with some good stories.

RIP

A sudden or lingering illness or not, at least she lived a long and a full life and knew that a lot of people loved and appreciated her. 85 is a great run for anybody, and I hope she felt loved and a measure of happiness in her final days.
