Lauren Bacall dead

Another great. I wish I could feel more, but I'm so tapped out. She lived a good life. And she's back with Bogey. RIP

We had it all
Just like Bogie and Bacall
Starring in our old late, late show
Sailing away to Key Largo

:(

At least, with Ms. Bacall, we can celebrate a good run, and wonderful, very lengthy career. She was a class act and lived a good, long life.

Cheers to you, Ms. Bacall.

I've always loved Betty in her Humphrey Bogart movies and have always thought of her as the coolest women of her day. One of the very last reminders of a bygone era is lost to us all, forever. Truly, we shall never see her like, again.

Yep, feels gauge on zero.

She was sexy as hell, had a great drawl, and a pretty good actress.

One of the great beauties and monstrously huge talents of the golden age of Hollywood. RIP

Woah, heavy couple of weeks. Robin Williams, Lauren Bacall, Dick Smith, Arlene Martel, and SPFX-guy Joe Viskocil.

Just stop! :wah:

Oh, crap. :(

Possibly not the greatest actress but plenty far, far worse than her had longer and more high-profile careers; the fact she always stuck up for herself in an era where to do so basically spelled career death didn't help.

She's back with "old whatshisname in African Queen" (to paraphrase one of the best lines in one of her better movies), at long last. Her account of Bogart's slow and horrible progress toward death in her autobiography By Myself is a harrowing yet inspiring read. She was a very, very classy individual.

RIP, and thanks for the memories.

Tragically, I think the only film I've seen her in is Murder on the Orient Express. I need to fix that.

Rest in peace, Lauren Bacall.

The only Bogart/Bacall film in my home library is The Big Sleep. Great Raymond Chandler mystery, with one death even he wasn't sure about regarding the murderer, and Bogart in an iconic role as Philip Marlowe. Terrific horse racing banter with Bacall, loaded with innuendo.

Anyone who hasn't seen it should check out To Have And Have Not. Absolutely my favorite Bogie/Bacall flick (it's where the iconic "You know how to whistle, don't you?" scene comes from).
