    TNG JJ-Reboot :):

    Captain Jean-Luc Picard - Human, Male, 36
A Starfleet old-timer, he is considered one of the most experienced and gifted starship captain's in the fleet, what with having held the rank for eleven years, he was Command's first choice to command the 5km long U.S.S. Enterprise-D. He still holds a lot of guilt over the death of his good friend Jack Crusher, compounded by the affair Picard and Jack's wife had just before the accident that killed him.

Commander William Riker - Human, Male, 24
A hot-shot up-and-comer, many in the admiralty have their eye on Riker, seeing him as a new breed of adventurous go-getter the fleet needs. Whilst his professional life is sorted, his on-again-off-again relationship with Deanna Troi causes some personal problems, even during the middle of terse and dangerous situations.

Commander Beverly Crusher - Human, Female, 31
Picard's former lover and wife of his closest friend, there is a considerable amount of animosity between them, as well as sexual tension. She tries to keep her focus on her work and also the well being of her son, Wesley.

Lt. Commander Data - Android, Male, 28
A marvel of technology (as easily identified by all the lens flares he emits), he is endeavouring to understand what it means to be more human by closely studying human interaction and mannerisms, and providing comment on what he observes.

Lt. Commander Deanna Troi - Betazoid/Human, Female, 23
A telepathic and empathic alien, she uses her abilities to support the crew through difficult issues, but can never get a read on Will Riker, with whom she has a tense relationship--even though she is generally inappropriately dressed at all times.

Lieutenant Geordi La Forge - Human, Male 24
The ship's Chief Engineer, he is blind and has a sidekick he shares most scenes with.

Lieutenant Natasha Yar - Human, Female, 22
As security chief she should be strong and determined, but often comes across as a bit wishy-washy (she is female after all), whilst her hard childhood has made her something of an emotional mess.

Lieutenant JG Worf - Klingon, Male, 19
A young officer with serious anger management issues, flying off the handle at the slightest provocation and frequently shouts before beating people up.

Wesley Crusher - Human, Male, 5
Beverly's genius child, looks set to enter the Academy, even before then he puts all others to shame with his tremendous mind, which has solved pesky problems such as: death, instantaneous travel across the galaxy, time travel and the god-like creation of life.

36 and an old timer? I would think in JJTrek, being 29 or 30 is already an oldster! ;)

Yeah, NuVash would get squicked if she caught Picard36 eyeballing her.

    James McAvoy as Captain Picard.

And everyone in starfleet has to wear those mini dress uniforms from the pilot episode.

I wouldn't complain. That'd probably do them a disservice though if they got in to a tussle on an away mission.

Here's how I answered this question when a rebooted TNG came up in the Future of Star Trek forum.

I had (above) Picard as a woman in her 40's. I think the rank of Captain should be awarded to people under 40 very, very rarely. I also flipped the gender of Riker, both Crushers and Data. I substituted Lal in his place.

I do like the idea of Enterprise on the Frontier, generally alone. Help and assistance is intermittent, etc. But I would have no civilians on the ship if they were not mission specialists. Families stay back at whatever Starbase is the ships Home Port. Yes, somewhat more interpersonal conflict. It's only natural.

No bloody carpeting, wood finishes or other Cruise ship looking décor in the work areas and tighter living quarters. Yes they are in space for long stretches, but that is all the more reason for lean, economical, practical space and energy saving designs, not the Love Boat. That was ridiculous.

Agreed, that's too 80's. I want hardwood floors, crown molding, and contemporary finishes. Since everything goes in cycles though they could probably recycle the furniture from TOS.

without question, nothing else should be considered.
