Wiped Episode Discoveries

Did anyone honestly expect one? Last time we had a media released from the BBC, numerous hints by various people (even Ian Levine knew beforehand that nine eps were being released that day) and a media event in which two past companions confirmed they were attending.

There wouldn't just be an announcement is time. I would hope the same would be done for other stories when the time came. I'd love to hear William Russell has been invited to an event, cos the main story that he's in that is missing is pretty bloody special.

Philip Morris did a Facebook Q&A today on the missing episodes.

I don't want to be one to parse, but these two statements really stand out for me.

And fans will just want a yes or no haven't you or have you. But its complex all I can say is the wind is blowing the right way be patient.

I dont wish to jeopardise the ongoing project in any way .And feel the fans of all lost tv will be very happy with the outcome.

Makes one wonder.

This may or may not be good news, do you have a link to his facebook page?

I can hear Moby Dick stirring in the deep...

But honestly, I'd like this to mean that he's on the path to finding the pot of gold, he's just not at the end of the rainbow yet, but he's confident he has got a good scent of the bullion!

Oh yay, more quotes to be taken out of context and serve as fuel to the fire.

I love Ian's response to the Q&A:

From 9pm, I am switching off my computer and my phone. I refuse to have contact with anyone. As far as I am concerned, Morris doesn't exist

 Although, it's worth it for that.

I found this bit interesting:

Q. Given the remarkable work of the individuals who made up the “restoration team”, is it your hope and expectation that the same experts will continue to work on any new Doctor Who recoveries?

A. the restoration team do the most stunning work im sure you all agree and they are good friends of mine . However due to the scale of the business T.i.e.a do restoration work inhouse with restored materials to exacting standards .

And his info on Sierra Leone goes again Paul Vanezis's research:

Yes I have visited sierra leonne .and I do posses there programme traffic records .I can tell you all Doctor Who prints were sent back to london in 1974.

According to their records. But it is a slightly odd comment as part of the current search does seem to rest on checking if the records match reality.

True, given the rumours of an illegal broadcast in the 80s, though it does point to a mass recall of countries in 1974/75 of DW prints being recalled by the BBC.
