What about that part where Lydia says that her family desperately needs to sell the lake house because they need the cash? That's why she freaked out when she spilled the red wine on the carpet--because they're putting the house up for sale.

The scene with the wine on the carpet didn't have any dialogue just loud music and a weird distorted sound......

No, before that. First, Lydia had a whole freak-out because the rug was ruined and her family really needs to sell the house, and the young freshman kid runs out to get cleaning supplies and then we got the bit with the weird silence and distorted sound.

The broadcast in my area had the same problem: no audible dialogue, just soundtrack/foley noises. I checked out that potion of the episode on demand and there was dialogue in that scene that was absent in the aired version. Maybe your cable provider had the same issue.

As for the benefactor, since the key that unlocked the code was "Allison", can we assume that the man behind the hit list is Papa Argent? Or is this just too obvious and a red herring? I was thinking that maybe he's just fed up with all of the supernatural shit in town and actually blames Scott for his daughter's death, hence the bounty of all things paranormal. I noticed an especially large sum offered for Scott, but not so much for Derek.

Didn't they show a kid at the party getting the message sent out by the Mute's computer thing on his arm? Or was that something else?

Just double checked on the online version, and he got a text from The Benefactor, he was not the one sending it.

This was a good one. We got some good stuff for pretty much every character, and Chris Argent is back. We also got some good movement on the main arc, and found out that the Mute was not the Benefactor. I kind of hope Argent isn't the bad guy. I like him and don't want him to go bad.
I was kind of disappointed that Liam was just another werewolf, I was hoping he'd turn into something else. But I guess they must have wanted at least one more wolf, since we already have coyote and a fox in the pack (and kind of a human and a Banshee).

The two kids at the party were assassins/bounty hunters just like the Mute. The Benefactor has some kind of competition going on for killing supernaturals.

Here's a wildcard - What if it's Alison's OTHER grandfather? We never did hear anything about her mothers side of the family aside from him being a Hunter.

^ That's true. What ever happened to Gerard? I can't remember if he was killed.

Chris Argent couldn't be the benefactor. He's a very good hunter, and if he wanted any one of them dead, they would be. He doesn't need to pay a third party to do it for him.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes when he appeared in the latest episode.

I could have sworn that Gerard was killed in S3, but I just checked both Wikipedia and one of the Teen Wolf Wikis, and neither of them say anything him dying.

I didn't feel like a lot happened on tonight's episode. There was a big lacrosse match between Beacon Hills and Devenford, and Scott and Stiles had to make sure Liam didn't lose his cool and transform in front of everyone. The couple of hunters, Garrett and Violet, were just two-dimensional bad guys. Lydia was able to decipher the second list of names with a cryptic clue from the eccentric girl Meredith.

For now the identity of the Benefactor remains a mystery.

I thought it was a pretty good one myself. We might not have gotten a ton of movement on the big plot, but I still like what we did get.
I thought we got some nice character development for Liam here.
And the next list was opened with Aiden's name. So apparently the Benefactor is aware of who in the main group of characters has died.
Did they figure out that Garrett was the one after them or not, I wasn't sure?

Scott suspected it was someone on the Beacon Hills lacrosse team but didn't know who at first. By the end of the scrimmage, I had an inkling that Scott figured it was Garrett.

He, Stiles, and Kira also realized that the main target was not Liam, but the injured jock from Devenford who was a Beta. That's when Scott came rushing into the locker room; he was soon ambushed by Violet, who tried to strangle him, but he quickly subdued her.

I like how Scott and Derek have no problem smelling another werewolf most of the time. But all of a sudden they have no idea who's one until it's actually revealed.

At least they explained it with Derek. Well, sort of, with him losing his powers.

The hunters...they're supposed to be freshmen? Wtf?! Everyone looks waaaaay older than high school, but I guess it's one of those "just go with it."

Loved having Argent back. The best looking guys are the non-young guys: Argent, Peter, and the Sheriff. Derek is Greta, the rest are eye candy.

And totally loved Scott's reaction to the burning wire: "What...this thing?"

They suspected Garrett was the assassin because he paid for the keg of beer at Lydia's party, and so was possibly responsible for luring the keg guy there, but they didn't know for sure.

They're not really any worse than most people on these kinds of shows.
These kinds of shows almost never cast actual teenagers.

FWIW, Dylan Sprayberry (the guy who plays Liam) is only 16 years old. He's probably the youngest cast member. I didn't realize he was the one who played young Clark Kent in Man of Steel.
