Looks like the upcoming 3.75" Black Series Sgt. Doallyn figure isn't actually Sgt. Doallyn. It appears to be the similar Jabba's Palace / Skiff Guard named Brock Starsher, but to most likely avoid the storm of nerdrage and complaining that would ensue had they printed the wrong character's name on the packaging Hasbro has decided to give this figure the generic "Jabba's Skiff Guard" label.

I kinda like it. It's not often we get a background alien or random guy that doesn't get their own unique name (and one that was never spoken nor even listed onscreen) and it's a bit refreshing. A brand new, never-before-made character? Call him Chaka Khan or Franken Berry for all I care. At least he's not the 63rd Clone Wars Anakin or Obi-Wan in a row!

Here is one I have been working on for my Masters of Evil. It is not finished only because I can't find that perfect piece for the helmet.

This huge hunk of toy arrived at my door today. NECA's 18" Gipsy Danger from Pacific Rim. I've taken a picture of my whole desk so you guys can appreciate just how big this thing is. It'll be standing vigil over my computer for the foreseeable future.

I'm quite annoyed right now. American Girl is retiring four dolls, including two I just love: Cécile and Ivy. Glad I own them both. It really bugs me because Ivy is the only Asian-American doll in the historical collection.

They're revamping the entire line. They're getting rid of the "friends" collection, hence the loss of Ivy, Ruthie, Cécile, and Marie-Grace. The only good news is that they're bringing back Samantha, who was one of the originals. Glad a new generation of girls will get to have her. And it's probably time to do a girl of the 80's- the original doll owners are moms themselves now!

Love it, but it does seem more of a Kyle thing to do than John. He was the one who was always making female constructs. If I remember, Conner Hawke even calls him out on it when they are flying in a plane construct and Kyle rings up some stewardesses.

I've been buying more toys recently than I ever thought I would. I've recently been reintroduced with Power Rangers, a show that I watched in its original incarnation, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. I never bought any toys for it because I was an older fan (about 10 or so when it debuted), but since they've been celebrating the 20th anniversary, some new toys have been put out. I just a few weeks ago caught wind of this and went out to hunt some of the toys down. Here's what I managed to get my hands on:

    Legacy Dragonzord:

Oh, this baby is gorgeous! I've seen videos on YouTube of the original Dragonzord from 20 years ago and they're obviously targeting adults who watched the show back then with these new toys. The sculpting on this thing is fantastic, various parts are die cast and the tail is flexible while the original it was stiff as a board. I just found the Legacy Megazord on eBay for a decent price, considering it came out a year ago and is currently out of production, so this guy will have some new friends in a week or so.

Legacy Power Morpher: Green/White Ranger Edition

The Power Morpher with the original five Rangers was put out last year, so, like the Megazord, I missed out on it. Luckily Toys R Us had a bunch of Green/White Ranger editions left. It's die cast, the coins are made of metal and actually have some weight to them and are pretty well-sculpted. I didn't notice until I got home that the lettering on the top is scratched a little. I'll deal with that in the future. It has various sounds and lights up and the top and bottom spring open when a button is pressed. Apparently these are of higher quality than the ones they used on the show, since they used the toys that were imported from Japan for the Japanese show.

And finally I found this neat little stand that has the helmets of the original six Rangers on it. Like the other two I mentioned above, the sculpting and paint job on these helmets is very high quality. This was a cool find and pretty cheap, too.

Oh great and knowledgable cooleddie, I beseech you: I have a question about 3.75" Astromech figures. (Which I suspect I know the answer to already but I'd like other news...)

1.) Has there ever been a single-carded or otherwise non-multipack/non-crazy-colored R2-D2 repaint of the R4-G9 ROTS Preview mold?*

2.) And have any of the coneheaded astromech types been made with a retool of that mold?

The research I've done so far suggests 'no' and 'no,' respectively, but I'm hoping I'm wrong.

*(If 'no' to the above, do you have a list of all the R2 uses of the mold?)

    Thanks in advance!

Didn't have a Kyle when I did this, and never read any of that run anyway.

Not to my knowledge. In fact, the only R2-D2 repaint of the R4-G9 (2005 Sneak Preview) mold I can even remember offhand is the Artoo in the blue Legacy Collection Battle Pack that's based on Old Ben's desert hut on Tatooine. Maybe the R2-D2 in the red Legacy Collection Geonosis Arena 2-pack sets that were exclusive to Target stores.

I believe there have been, though any R4 droid made with the mold has been in an exclusive multipack set. No individually-carded figures that I can remember (and let's face it, there haven't been all that many basic-carded astromechs in recent years that haven't been R2-D2).

Hope this helps, if just a little! I have a fair knowledge of all the astromech molds used over the years but occasionally a figure or two slip my memory.

Suddenly oo-mox just got a tad more creepy. If that's even possible.
