since we've seen season 2 by now (episode #3: "Hugs can be Deceiving" Teacake's fav scene where the towel looks like its going to slip when she's shaving herself )

its because Red has back problems and it hurts to shave her own legs.

I think Norma and Red are just friends, and I love that scene in the greenhouse where she apologizes to Norma.

Of course, I hate that same scene because of what Boo does.
