I saw at least two different instances where a player had the ball and a shot at the goal, and instead of taking the shot they tried to get it to Ronaldo. Hilarious.

    And kind of pathetic.

Almost makes you glad all your players are equally shit, right? :D *hides*!
Team work beats this silly stuff.

    Meanie. :(

But yeah, this performance from Portugal so far is kind of encouraging. If the US can beat Ghana tonight (no easy feat, I know), it at least gives them a chance at getting out of this group. I'd love to see Germany just keep scoring. Screw up that goal differential as much as possible. :D

Germany is one of those teams that might just keep going like that in the second half too instead of being satisfied with 3:0.

I was just thinking that. Italy would just give the ball to Pirlo and go have a coffee in the second half.

    Disappointed with the TV coverage.

Where's the closeup of Ronaldo's face each time Germany score ?

Very nice game from a german perspective, unlucky for Portugal that they didn't get that penalty.

That´s true. Although it was so late in the match, it wouldn´t really have made much of a difference. But it would have been a little something for the fans at least.

When Ronaldo ends up not even doing his "free kick show" anymore, you know you've done a good job neutralizing him.

Poor Portugal. Even Zangief couldn't save them.

Well, the monkey was right. The camel will be turned into camel burger soon. ;)

Wow, 4-0, just like old times. :D

Since I watched at the fan area I didn't get the detailed look you get at home but it was fun. Portugal seemed to be quite weak, though. The USA might have a chance against them, after all. I don't share the dislike for Ronaldo most people seem to have but I enjoy the sad and pouty faces he makes when a game doesn't go his way a lot. I hope his failed free kick against Lahm will be turned into a meme, it gets even funnier on replays.

Iran vs Nigeria is officially the first crappy game in what's so far been a very entertaining World Cup.
Here's hoping that Ghana and the USA will make for a more entertaining watch. Who will I be rooting for?!

Good lord, what a dull match between Iran and Nigeria. Hopefully US/Ghana will be more fun, regardless of the result. Though I just saw on Yahoo that both Essien and Boateng aren't in the starting lineup. I didn't know either of them were injured.

Well, US certainly did not waste any time scoring. Yeah!

    Indeed.

I like the African style borders on Ghana's jerseys. As far as fashion is concerned, it's 1-0 for Ghana. ;)

That goal right in the opening minute was fantastic, but for the most part Ghana dominated possession after that. Hopefully the US can do a better job of keeping the ball next half. They also need to do something about the left side of their defense. Beasley's looking awful so far.

This has been a brutally physical match so far.

I gotta say I feel a bit sorry for Ghana. They didn't pay attention for 30 seconds and then played a decent game wasting all their chances.
