Claremont writing and Alan Davis drawing?

3/4's of the book is about how Captain Britain's girlfriend wants to bang Nightcrawler.

If someone has a hard on for Kitty coming out of the new movie, archives of this series is the title to sell them on.

But between you and me, you are a professional, and you made your decision about Excalibur 25 years ago, and even though you were wrong, you're at peace with how wrong you were, so we can all let it rest.

:)

If the next movie borrow from "Age of Apocalypse", the excuse for where Apocalypse has been will be the same as the comics: He was sleeping, and when his computers detected significant mutant activity he awakened and started making plans for what to do in this new world.

For example, in the comics it was originally going to be revealed that HE was the one behind Weapon X and Wolverine's skeleton. In fact, Apocalypse was the one who gave Wolverine back his adamantium after Magneto ripped it out.

In the movies, the likely explanation will be that Apocalypse may have detected Logan's mental time travel and, combined with the emergence of mutants like 30 years before they emerged in the old timeline, this will compel Apocalypse to check out this new world.

I wonder if Ozymandias and Mr Sinister will be in play?

Immortal Nursemaids watching over the planet while Apocalypse sleeps.

I lovd this movie thought it was great, my one critism would be Jennifer Lawrence (which is also my only critism with First Class). I just dont think she is as good as the rest of the cast or Rebecca Romijn.

I do think im in the minority here.

With the upcoming movies im hoping for a stronger tougher Rogue than we got in the original trilogy, ive got faith in Channing Tatum (who i think is an underrated actor) as Gambit and moremore Colossus!

Tatum is a good actor but he is a little beefy looking for Gambit who I always saw more as a pretty boy.

I consider that she's a fine actress, but I just don't think she's hot.

That puts me in a far smaller minority than you Druss.

Definitely in the minority.

I rewatched the trilogy this week and noticed that Rebbeca Romijn does very little acting at all (which jumps out even more after seeing First Class and Days of Future Past multiple times each). The first film she has only one line and only a couple of lines in the second and third films. The only "acting" she does is walking around looking pretty in a body suit (I seriously doubt she performed her own stunts). This is a stark contrast from Jennifer Lawrence, who does plenty in both her human and natural forms and does it all terrifically.

Lawrence looks good, Romjin looked great

Wasn't "J-Law"'s make up a lot easier for this movie too? I remember reading a while ago that a lot of it was bascally a suit she wore rather than being painted head to toe as Romijn had to be. As either way I thought Mystique still looked great in this and you couldn't really tell the difference.

It would have been a fun little thing if in that Happy Happy ending future Rebecca Romijn had been there as Mystique too; she'd turned good and eventually joined the team. But fair enough that would tie their hands an awful lot for any sequels.

I think Jennifer Lawrence is great.

Honestly, as much as I enjoyed the original trilogy cast, I prefer the First Class group of actors. James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult & Jennifer Lawrence are all fantastic in their roles. McAvoy & Fassbender have great chemistry, for example. They play off each other really well. As Emh said, Lawrence brings so much more to the Mystique role than Rebecca Romijn ever did. Some of the best parts of Days of Future Past are when Xavier is trying to connect with Raven/Mystique and reach out to her. You can tell she means a lot to him.

I've heard Simon Kinberg talk about the inclusion of the original trilogy actors in Apocalypse, but I just hope they still focus on the First Class actors. I want to see more of them. I think it's going to be especially interesting to see if McAvoy's Xavier begins to morph into Patrick Stewart's Xavier or if given the new timeline he does his own thing. The future of Raven's character was also uncertain, so I look forward to seeing these versions of the characters again.

I enjoyed first class and I wanted to see more Banshee and Beast but the prequels just don't feel like X-men movies in the same way that they did in the earlier trilogy. The prequels feel like Prof X, Magneto, and Mystiqe stories and Singer's earlier approach was so languid and fragmented that they only really felt like a proper Xmen team at the end of the third movie. Up until that point it was just a Wolverine movie with some X-men in support. The seventies X-men were even more non existent. As such, I'd be more than happy if the Apocalypse movie featured the older cast again even if they use different characters as the focus.

I really want to see Angel get re-made by Apocalypse which won't work as well if he's a baby in the eighties; I'd like to see the beginnings of Cable, I'd like to see Dazzler and (a proper, maybe even English) Psylocke to round out the 'classic' characters, which works well if you nobble the main cast using the Marauders like in the comics. Maybe Mr Sinister or Apocalypse could have an allegedly deceased Banshee in the Marauders alongside Polaris if we need a reason to bring back the dude?

Edit: As an aside, my friend's eight-year old asked why they keep making stuff out of breakable plastic instead of non-ferrous metals. Is he smarter than the writing team or am I missing something?

Enjoyed this movie a lot. Had a few flaws but I appreciated that it was at least trying to be great. That's more than you can say for movies like Amazing Spider-Man 2 or Thor 2.

The Fox movies do find some interesting and unconventional faces for their roles. It can be argued whether that's good or not but it does keep things fresh. I don't think Quicksilver ever looked like the actor in the movie but he was great.

LOVED the movie, thought it was fantastic.

I've read through some of the pages and I'm still unclear about the current timeline:

So X-Men, X2, X-Men 3: The Last Stand, and X-Men: Origins DIDN'T happen while First Class (obviously) and The Wolverine *did* happen?

So is the "new" timeline: First Class, The Wolverine, Days of Future Past?

Well, some version of those events occurred because Logan still winds up with the X-Men somehow. I imagine that X1 and X2 mostly occurred, maybe some of X3 but obviously without some characters' deaths. I think the parts of Wolverine: Origins that take place before '72 still occurred and probably The Wolverine too...

How could The Wolverine still have happened (in the same manner) when it larged dealt with a Wolverine who still grieves over Jean Grey's death??

The basic plot (a dying Yashida bringing Logan to Japan to steal his healing powers) doesn't require Logan to be grieving over Jean.

You know I never thought of it that way. Good looks.

By my interpretation, the only films that can still happen are

First Class, DOFP (1973), X1 (Since Rogue has the white stripe in her hair), and now the Wolverine.

XMO, X2, X3 are all in doubt due to DOFP. Did Logan meet Stryker in this new timeline? Does Logan have Adamantium skeleton?

X2 is in doubt because the event at Alkalai Lake would still require Jean's sacrifice and she's alive.

X3 is a no go since both Jean and Scott are alive. Also Rogue was wearing gloves. Meaning she is not cured.

Well mutant supressant only appeared to work for a short time, after all at the end of X3 we say Magneto move a chess peice slightly (though that could just mean you have to recieve regular injections).

For all we know Wolverine joins the X-Men in the next film Apocalypse.

Mystique won't be with Magneto in the first movies now?

Is the rift in their friendship caused over Nixon's cowering body repairable?

Either she's heading up her own faction while he's weaponizing the statue of Liberty, or she's with Charles.

In X2 it was Mystique disguised as Wolverine who was sent into the damn control room to fiddle with it, which eventually resulted in the flood that tried to take out the plane and forced Jeans sacrifice.

Is young Striker dead?

I thought the point was that they wanted to stop Mystique from becoming a kille... Oh shit.

You know who else has flashy eyes like that when they use Mystiques mutant abilities?

A Sentinel.

In X-lore there's a advanced model future Sentinel called Nimrod that made it's way back from the Days of Future Past to hang out in the actual past to... I'm guessing that it followed Rachel back and it wanted to preserve the timeline? But shit happened and it absorbed a human conciousness which corrupted its cpu and it turned out to be fair. Not good, but fair. Mutants must die sure, but just one at a time if they cross it's path, there's no need to create a massive evil plan to destroy them all because... No one takes time to smell the roses any more.

And besides, the timeline "must" be preserved.

How long was Wolverine drowning under water in the river before she or it pulled him up?

Mystique couldn't have saved him in minutes, he was on the other side of the city, and she wouldn't know where to dredge, or get the boat to dredge, and could he survive down there for hours?

It must have been Nimrod.

Nimrod was sent back in time to save Wolverine, because without him, Sentinel Domination of the planet had become too unlikely making their present too shaky.
