Teaser trailer, and August airdate confirmed

Considering the inconsistency of when the show actually airs, that teaser disappointed me. Wish we got an actual trailer with an actual date. We have a month but everything is still up for speculation. It's almost June so that means 3 months away from the premiere.
I think it's common for BBC not to confirm a start date for most shows until just a few weeks before they actually air

I have a feeling the TARDIS console will get reworked but the interior will be the same.

It will be like the old series where they made slight changes as a new doctor took over.

Hmmmm... slight update to the logo and I'm guessing we'll get a new TARDIS interior since the old one is burning...

Probably not. I visited the set last November and while they wouldn't give any spoilers they did confirm that the set would be used for the new season. The old set was still there and there wasn't time for a new set.

We believe the lights will be turned up a bit, that enough for me, personally :alienblush:

The key fact to remember is that in Day of the Doctor Capaldi was seen on the current console room set, so obviously that has to stick around long enough for the Twelfth Doctor to take part in saving Gallifrey.

Except that the TARDIS stores the old console rooms as witnessed in "The Doctor's Wife". So in theory he could use any console room at any time.

I'd rather see an upgrade in the exterior of the TARDIS rather than the interior. I never really warmed to the upgrade when Matt Smith took over. It's too blue, too clean, I don't like how they do the windows now or that the left door sign lights up now.

I did see that recent on-set photo that showed a fair bit of dirtiness to it, which was nice, but that could just be episode-specific. "Day of the Doctor" really drove home how much I really miss 9/10's TARDIS, when it was parked next to 11's.

Anyway, nice to get that "August" starting point, though I think several people figured that would be the case. Good to get the confirmation though.

I don't think that they are changing the Tardis set, but really that doesn't mean anything.

Capaldi's part for Day of the Doctor was filmed at the same time as the regeneration scene, so even if they are going to change the Tardis set they obviously didn't have one ready at that point.

But all we really saw was a hand on a lever and a close up of eyes. There was nothing there to really identify the console room.

And this should be noted: fan trailer that actually rocks.

^ Wow, that fan trailer is amazing. I had to watch it twice! Very well done. Very well done, indeed! :bolian:

I think he's talking about from an in-universe continuity perspective. That being said, my memory is the same as Professor Zoom's. I don't think we saw enough to judge anything.
