Worst Cancellations This TV Season

The Neighbors: I absolutely love this show and it's such a shame it never caught on. It was so damn funny. Larry Bird is one of the all time funniest sit-com characters.

How I Met Your Dad: okay, this never existed in the first place, but in spite of the horrible finale I was still excited to see this show! I wonder if the toxic reaction to the finale was what led them to axing the pilot?

The Crazy Ones:
a sit com starring Robin Williams? and also Buffy? sign me up! It wasn't a classic but I always found it enjoyable. It got good ratings too so this one was really surprising.

Enlisted: this was a cute show that I was really enjoying, it sucks it never got a chance to shine.

Community: sucks that's it's cancelled but this show got so many more chances than I ever, ever thought it would. I'm glad it lasted this long.
Almost Human

Suburgatory

Raising Hope

Revolution

I never watched it but 'Bad Teacher' got the axe too and the new James Van Der Beek show, I think it was called "Friends with Better Lives."

I knew Intelligence and Dracula were dead and to be honest they weren't that good, but there was a hint that both shows could've been something much better.

I thought though that Dracula was like Hannibal where it had a lot of foreign financing going on, so could it still come back, just not on NBC?

Almost Human was better, but that too failed to deliver on the world it had created.

I stopped watching Trophy Wife about halfway thorough even though I thought it was decent. Will miss The Crazy Ones though even though it wasn't that great.

I am sad when shows I enjoyed get the ax but The Crazy Ones :( I liked it a lot.

I loved Raising Hope.

Is Intelligence officially cancelled? I enjoyed that show.

Raising Hope and Enlisted piss me off. Both should have been on Tuesdays, Mindy Project is shit with horrible ratings and it's coming back. Raiaing Hope deserved a finale 13 episodes even if this season was so-so.

The Neighbors was amazing, I'm so glad we got a second season of this wonderful show with the horrible pilot.

Community I love, but I'm fine with the series ending.

Suburgatory this season was a mess. It should have never have come back. Happy Endings should have in it's place.

I say this all the time, how in the hell did the Neighbors get a series with the worse pilot I have ever seen. I'm glad it did, the synergy between the writing and acting was great. I'm gonna miss Larry Bird and Jackie Joyner-Kersee.

Before we get ahead of ourselves on this one. It seems CBS is denying that it's been passed over for series order. It hasn't confirmed if that means it has been picked up, only that the stories of them passing on it are not true...yet.

I never understood that either. I don't even know why I watched a second episode, just to see how bad it could get, and it turned out really well. It's the only time ever they should have skipped over the pilot, it was so so bad!

And it was bad for one main reason that every sic-fi knows not to do in a TV show... If you have aliens take human form you can't ever show their alien selves! It's like the writers got that after the pilot, and even made fun of it.

I got lucky this year. Or rather, I haven't been a fan of many new shows in the past couple of seasons, so all I've been watching are the established ones that are sticking around for a little while. However I did see a few episodes of The Neighbors, Raising Hope, and Enlisted and I thought they were all pretty funny. They didn't become appointment viewing for me, but I did recognize their quality.

Oh, I did forget about two shows I watch that were canceled this season. Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, which really wasn't that great (and the one good character will be joining the cast of Once Upon a Time, so no real loss), and Believe, which also wasn't that great.

I don't think there were any surprise cancellations, for me at least, this year.

You've worded this in a very misleading and clumsy way.

1) How I Met Your Dad has not been "canceled." CBS simply has yet to confirm whether it's been ordered to series yet.

2) Having read the pilot last month, I can confirm that it is a) not a spinoff the way DS9 is a spinoff of TNG and b) actually quite good.

3) I thought the How I Met Your Mother finale was just fine and don't understand the stupid outrage it engendered.

I don't understand it either. The show was built on bittersweet stories; but it seems that some fans suddenly wanted a different show when it came time for the finale. How were they fans of the show in the first place? The finale encapsulated exactly what the show had been for 9 years. It was no surprise.

As for How I Met Your Dad, I'm looking forward to it. I also think that fans of the original show will like it if they give it a chance.

I'd be extremely reluctant to give "How I Met Your Dad" a chance knowing how HIMYM ended. I'd rather not get invested in another bait and switch. Hi, kids. Your dad was great. Okay? But I'm totally, totally, totally in love with uncle Joe who's doing time for selling crack. That's the REAL reason I told you this story. Yes, I know these past seven years have proved that we're just not right for each other, but.....let's regress to square one. He'll break up with me again in three months anyway after we reconnect. No harm done.

Shame about the Crazy Ones. That's a good show.

I don't remember the Neighbors pilot anymore but I didn't remember having any problem with it. The only thing I recall is my great surprise when the humans found out they were aliens in the very first episode; I had assumed it was going to be teased for the first season.

I'm disappointed Community was cancelled, but I can hardly blame NBC for it. Community probably only even got a 4th and 5th season because it had a devoted fan base, and if any other show got the kind of ratings Community did it might not have gotten past season 2.

Though if Comedy Central were to pick it up for a new season, that would be super.

Anyway, that pretty much brings it down to Parks & Rec as the only scripted show on major networks I have any interest in watching. And, I sometimes watch SNL if I happen to be awake and at home.

HBO, Netflix, FX, Showtime and AMC? I trust you have the situation under control.

I'm going to really miss Raising Hope and Enlisted. Raising Hope had closure with a pretty nice series finale. It also hinted to what a fifth season would be like, with Jeffrey Tambor's character joining the family.

Enlisted really got screwed though. Friday night death slot, little promotion, airing episodes out of order and then not even showing the last few shows of the season. Through all that it managed to hook me with it's humor and heart and become my favorite new show of the season.

I liked Trophy Wife. Sure, it was stupid, but the acting hid some of the show's flaws. I didn't watch much else that got cancelled this year, surprisingly. The only thing I ever even sampled were Revolution last year and Dracula this year. Hated both.

Edit: Oh, and The Crazy Ones. But it was painfully unfunny at times. The bloopers during the credits were the best part. I gave up after 10 episodes.
