X-MEN: Days Of Future Past (Casting, Rumors, Pics till release)

^That's news to me too. I hope it is someone just trying to get in the spotlight. (I'm also kinda reading the prosecutor's statement as "I flew out their multiple time so he could rape me" which doesn't sound right.

The Independent (I have no idea of their normal spin, I just googled to see what you all were talking about) apparently seems to be saying Michael Egan is planning on exposing more Hollywood Execs with more Law Suits.

Was this guy ever anything? There's numerous Michael Egans listed on IMDB

There's an allegation that a gun was held to his head at one point - not by Singer, but by someone else involved - and threats were made against him and his family if he didn't make himself available for sex. Could be bullshit, but that's one of the claims.

Plaintiff, for what it's worth, not prosecutor. There aren't criminal charges as far as I'm aware.

I would hope that Fox decides to let the legal system handle this and not do anything until the evidence is more clear one way or the other.

It's almost a law that rape accusations of famous people lead to the destruction of their career, because the media jumps at it like bloodhounds and everyone gives in to the pressure. Eventually it never matters if the accusations are false. His career is over.

And Mike Tyson. And Roman Polanski. And Victor Salva. And Bryan Singer the last time.

Seems remarkably fortuitous for the plaintiff that Hawaii decided to lift the statute of limitations on sex abuse cases and, Lo and behold, he just happens to have been abused in Hawaii. Flown out there on multiple occasions, no less. It's quite remarkable that the people hosting these parties flew him out to Hawaii from California. I would have thought it much easier to find victims or rent boys or the like in Hawaii itself, as oppose to going to the expense of flying your victims out, but that's just me.

Allegations of Bryan Singer and twink parties and him keeping around young playthings by giving them production/assistant roles have been around for years. There's an eye opening 2012 thread on imdb with pictures as well. Could all be exaggerated though. To be honest I'm getting a "where there's smoke..." vibe here.

Really, Mike Tyson and Victor Salva as examples for people whose careers haven't been killed off? Those people didn't even have careers to be killed off anymore by the time they were accused of anything. And Polanski gets mostly a free pass because his wife was brutally murdered.

But I give you Woody Allen. And Michael Jackson.

^Tyson did return to the ring after serving his sentence. Biting Holyfield's ear was what finished his career, not the conviction (though he'd passed his best as a boxer by the time he was released). However, it's perhaps notable that while the cast of The Hangover movies refused to work with Mel Gibson in the second film, they had no such qualms about working with Tyson.

Victor Salva is a minor director, but most of his work followed his conviction and represented an uptick in his career. Clownhouse was the only film he'd directed prior to his conviction, while Powder and Jeepers Creepers followed it.

And Michael Jackson.

Aside from the fact that his music has flat out sucked for decades, there might be another reason why his career isn't happening right now.

There's probably an even better reason his career isn't happening right now.

Hmmm.

I would say it's because he's dead but he (or I guess Paul) is still putting out new CDs and there is a stage play currently in circulation. Though I agree with Set Harth that Jackson's music was lacking in his later years, he still had a career in music, even after those sleepovers. Not to mention that he has hundreds of thousands if not millions saved up and a ranch he could always come home to.

I'm not quite sure what to make of the accusations against Singer at this point. This is the kind of thing that will often make me not want to see a movie involving the person, but at this point I haven't really heard enough to counter my anticipation for DoFP.
