Who would you love to see cast in the next series?

Just channelling Game of Thrones here, but Peter Dinklage for any role, and Sean Bean as the ultimate red shirt.
Not related to the above (really!), but I've long thought Lena Headey would be a perfect Captain.
Preferably the first non-human Captain. Oh, and the first homosexual Captain as well.
Related to the above: Dinklage as a recurring/main cast Tellarite would be great as well.

Gary Sinise as Chief Engineer Horatio "Harry" McCoy. Great-grandson of you know who, but he's an engineer, not a doctor.

Morgan Freeman as a Starfleet Admiral; Denzel Washington, Jeff Daniels, Hugh Jackman, and Kevin Spacey as Captains; Jaime Bamber, Jon Bernthal, Michael C. Hall, Nathan Fillian, and Russell Crowe as Commanders; David Tennant and James McAvoy as Lieutenants; and Daniel Radcliffe and Lucas Till as Ensigns. In addition, Dwayne Johnson as the Brikar Lt. Zak Kebron, Christian Bale as Mackenzy Calhoun, and Paul Giamati as an alien.
Let's say, I think I want to keep it real, like TV actors and actors with no contracts (in theory):
Lance Reddick as captain (suggested by Temis the Vortam I completly agree)
Shelley Conn as the First officer
Niall Matter as the first officer
Cassidy Freeman as Security Officer she could be an alien in light make up, like bajoran or something
Ben Cotton as chief engineer
Jonny Coyne as an alien navigator
Henry Ian Cusick as the Doctor
Regular guest stars:
Sam Neill as Vulcan admiral
Naveen Andrews as some mysterious crew member always there to help (like Guinan but more active)
Brian Austin Green a regular returning "friend of the crew", maybe alien

That'd be cool I like Gary Sinise especially in CSI New York.

There are a host of Law and Order: SVU people I think would do well in Star Trek.
--Dann Florek would be an interesting fit as a flag officer, similar to his role as Captain Cragen.
--Diane Neal would make an excellent ship's captain, as would Stephanie March.
--Ron Rifkin from Alias would be a good fit, too. Too bad the character of Sloan is already taken. Otherwise, it'd be an interesting way of harmonizing his new role with his old one.

John Barrowman would be great. Ron Pearlman. Jennifer Lawrence. Nathan Fillion. I could go on... these are all wonderful people.

Andre Braugher and Scott Speedman from the short-lived series Last Resort both seem like Star Trek material, provided they don't fire a WMD at Starfleet Headquarters like their submarine counterparts did.
John Barrowman won me over in Arrow. Before that I hadn't rated him as an Actor but after Arrow I think he can act now so I wouldn't have a problem with him being cast now like I would've a few years back.
Pearlman would be alright. Don't think I've seen Nathan Fillion in anything so I can't comment. But Jennifer Lawrence is a pretty girl so I wouldn't mind seeing her
But in all seriousness she's a decent actress as well so nice choice.

I think I can see Alan Rickman in a longish arc as a disaffected old school admiral on the way out, who along with "rogue" elements of Star Fleet Intelligence, provides a major threat to the Federation. Would make Satie and all of the other troublemakers look like small potatoes.
I could see that working if done right.
Also my sister saw me posting on this thread and asked if anyone thought that Ellen Page would be any good in a new Star Trek series? (Now that I've asked she's promised to quit bugging me LMAO
