I'm not sure what the big problem is here. You get charged once per month, you receive the issues once per month. The time that these happens may fluctuate a little bit, but we consistently get our products.

The thing to remember is that this isn't Amazon. You're buying a subscription, not individual products. When you subscribe to a magazine you pay once per year, and get twelve issues, one per month for the next year. In this case, they're simply splitting it up into monthly payments for semi-monthly issues, so you're not being charged $500 up front for an annual subscription and to reduce shipping costs.

I think if we view this as a subscription service, rather than an online retailer, it puts it into perspective and the "wait" becomes less of an issue.

^^^ No problem. Read my post. I actually mention that I understand that this is not Amazon and that some waiting is required.

You're citing an issue where none exists.

My greatest issue (that you missed from my earlier posts, as well as others here) was that I was being charged on my credit card almost a full month before delivery. By today's definition, and under normal circumstances, that could be construed as tantamount to credit card fraud. Nobody should ever charge a card number until services are rendered or are ready to be so. Period. A near-month delay between card charge and delivery of goods & services is generally unacceptible in this day and age of identity theft, commercial misrepresentation and consumer fraud. If this weren't a trusted and reliable source of merchandise (and I have dealt with them in the past with the Official Star Trek Fact Files), I would never do business with them otherwise.

Since that's not the case, and I do trust that they're doing the right thing, I can still poke fun at the quaintness of it all, in comparison to a more modern way of doing delivery business, like what Amazon does. Ҫa va?

My post was not aimed towards you directly, but rather people in general complaining about the wait time.

Again, I'll make my point about this being a subscription, not individual sales. Would you consider it fraud when Titan Magazine charges you $32 up front for 4 issues of the Star Trek magazine that will be delivered over the next year? I think not, because that's how subscription-based products work.

If you want to receive the issues immediately, cancel your subscription and buy them directly from a shop.

Please note that my use of "you" is in the general sense, not directly aimed at '137th Gebirg' or anyone else

While I agree that we can "poke fun" at the way this is being handles and the fan response, I don't think it's fair to say that Amazon is "modern" and, as a result, imply that subscriptions are outdated. Amazon itself has several different forms of subscription services, both through their Kindle sales and their "subscribe and save" feature.

^^^ Oh, just wait til Amazon starts delivering packages by drone, within 30 minutes of placing an order. They're already working on this for packages up to 5lbs, which I think they said is 80-90% of their business.

I've always kind of thought next-morning delivery right after I've placed the order at 8pm the preceding evening was creepy, but hat one will be a provisioning industry quantum-leap game-changer! :D

I see this heading downhill in the future. I had some things to say about it but it was impulsive so how about we just drop it and get back to the collection before this turns into a locked thread?

I received my last order after I was billed for the next. This is the first time this has happened.

I'm assuming they are swamped with orders.

I'm getting the impression this is very popular.

Gee, the same thing happened to me, I'm glad we agree.

If we want to see complainers we should get the facebook posters on here, at the bbs posters are nice about it.

I apologize for starting this. I do realize that this is a subscription so there is a built in wait time. However, I have had issues with my account from the start. I just wanted to see if there might have been an issue like the the selling out and reordering of DS9. If there is no issues and this just happens to be a longer than normal wait, I won't have the need to call/email them.

My understanding is that they had been behind on production, and then had to replace several damaged ones. There are a few on here that have not recieved them either.

I think they're just using a slow shipping service. I called to update my mailing address a few days ago (so less than a week after I was charged) and they said they next issues have already shipped.

Anyone else who subscribes thinking of selling the the Abramsprise? I wish there was an opt-out option on a item-by-item basis for subscribers. I just don't care for the nuTrek stuff enough. Glad that thus far it's the only item from such. :S

I'm similarly ambivalent about the Abramsprise. In the UK at least, Eaglemoss give you the option of contacting them in advance to opt out of receiving any of the special issues. I've found them very responsive by email, unlike some companies I could mention.

You can opt out. The nuEnterprise is a special issue, so just as you were given the option to opt-out of the DS9 issue, you'll be given the opportunity to opt out of this one.

As for opting out issue-by-issue, that's simply how a subscription works. You don't subscribe to a magazine and then tell them which issues you want to receive. If you want to do that, then you don't subscribe and you purchase the issues individually, which is also an option.

Has anyone from Canada signed up for this? I'm interested but a bit nervous about putting $50 on my card every month. I think it's doable, given my current financial situation, but that could always change.

When are we given the ability to opt out? I just got ds9 the only reason I knew to expect it was the bank charge.

I have subscribed, but since they're still taking pre-orders, I haven't received anything yet.

But I certainly hear you about the $50/month...

If it works like in the UK, you should receive an email giving you advance notice of the special issue and specifying the date by which you must contact them if you do not want to receive it. You might want to check that Eaglemoss have your correct email address.

Looking forward to their take on Vengeance. The Hot Wheels version looks even better than what we saw on screen, what with the nacelle supports a bit more swan-like..
