Isn't that just starting over? Reboot is such a stupid buzzword for films anyway.

 

Yeah, a hard reboot is when you completely ignore everything that came before and start over from scratch.
I'm a big fan of Clarke on GOT so this has me pretty happy. Honestly her and Alan Taylor's involvement are the only reason I have any interest in this whatsoever.

 

I normally don't have a problem with reboots, but I'm having a hard time imagining how they could possibly make the Terminator concept feel fresh and new again.

It involves a Terminator going into the past to kill either Sarah or John Connor. And... that's about it. The second best idea was turning the Terminator into a good guy, but that's already been done as well. I'm not really sure what's left.

 

Will this one introduce Robocop to the mix?

I think after 30 years everything becomes remake/reboot fodder whether it needs it or not.

Oh fuck, he's terrible. Zero charisma, and not a very good actor in my opinion. Bummer.

That said, people can get better over time so I won't write him off just yet.

Put a chip in John Connors foetus head.

As soon as they have done that... They kill him in the present.

No alternate timeline.

The problem is that every time they try to timescoop pregnant Sarah, she's not bloody pregnant!

Although during an inspection of her womb, while she is being held over before being sent back, the complex is assaulted by the human rebel scum, and eventually... Kyle shags her in the future, they destroy Skynet and then send her back knocked up to maintain the timeline's integrity.

 

I thought she was great in season 1, which is basically a story of Dany as a vulnerable and initially powerless teenage girl, who goes through a lot of shit, fights back, falls in love unexpectedly, suffers terrible losses and eventually grows into a powerful woman... which is Terminator I Sarah Connor in a nutshell.

In season 2, they gave her absolutely rubbish material, a bad story and awful dialogue (invented for the show - it's very different in the book, but she isn't that much in it, so they invented stuff to give her more screentime)

 

I would watch Tatiana Maslany paint a fence. I so love her.

 

Don't ruin Tom Sawyer for me with sex.

If I had to pick amongst my favorite human male characters EVER in film, Reece would be up there. Even if that list could also include TV. Sure, the Trek captains and some other big characters would be up there too, but Reece was always up there, and he would have the shortest amount of actual screentime which makes it even more impressive. He was always the perfect tough-guy hero to me. He knew how to sound sound reassuring, But that moment of vulnerability (I studied every line, every curve) is what sold it for me. What an incredible character!

This guy has a few qualities that Reece had, but the choice is underwhelming.
