New Top Gear

Wish they were starting with something more interesting than hot hatchbacks...

Oh well, I'm just glad they're back!

I've always wanted to do that in a supermarket. while the assholes who park their trolleys across the aisles were still in it.

^You mean you can actually get parked in a supermarket car park. I thought the rule there was to take up two bays with your car. :p

Anyway not to bad.

Take away lesson from this episode... Don't run from mustached cops with a tank!

Got a bit too ridiculous as time went on but Hammond's run through the supermarket (especially the ending of that) were hilarious.

That quad bike that turns into a jetski...

and this...

Good episode. Sometimes I think you can tell when they truly have passion for a car - the P1 piece was so well put together.

Anyone know why the seasons keep getting smaller? Don't people in the UK watch anymore?

They've been doing 6-8 episodes a series since 2008. Series 10 was the last time they had 10 episodes to a series. Viewership has declined somewhat from the show's peak, too, but not catastrophically.

Though to be fair they do two of these 6 or 8 episode seasons a year.

Looking at Netflix it looks like they have two seasons a year up until about 2011, then they start to get dragged out.

I think the Olympics was the cause of there not being much Top Gear throughout 2012. Something to do with production staff being utilized for that.
