We've bogged down a little because we have a bunch of big upgrades running at once, but keep pushing/grinding, we're making progress!

Spire T1 is close to complete, and Dil Mine and Embassy both also have upgrades coming along (although more costly in DIL).

Keep at it, and we'll start to clear these out and get more rewards opened up. Spire is a nice one to get moving, as there are nice TAC consoles for all damage types, and MK XII ground kits that are big improvements over the previous MK X max we've had. Once we clear the upgrade, we can run a couple provisioning assignments so that we can go buy some of that stuff.

In the interim, once we get some provisions up for the Spire (and you can already do this for the other holdings), check out the NoP public channel (may not be exact name, but can find it by searching or in the forums). They've been giving out free invites to their max tier holdings, so as long as you have provisions, you can go buy stuff from any of their T3 holdings (or T5 starbase). Only limitation is ships, obviously, since you have to be IN the fleet for that, but for the rest, it uses your own provisions, so they've got several fleets that are giving out invites to buy the end-level gear. Also things like the Tailors for uniform unlocks, warp cores, consoles, weapons, whatever. Unlockable 6th DOFF slot for both space and ground as well, which can let you really stack some damage. Costs 150k fleet credits each, though, so stock up!

Lastly, trying to get some interest up for doing some team-ups in the Voth Battlezone. Been grinding that one a lot lately, great payouts in DIL and Voth Marks for running around doing the little missions. As close to 'fun' as they've managed to make any of their grinds to date, or at least the least annoying/obvious. And payouts are nice to the point where I'm refining my max DIL every day and starting to get behind on the stockpile of unrefined. It's rewarding and popular, so sure they'll nerf it sooner or later. Trying to get it while it's still good :)

Anyway, sending out invites on the fleet channel when I'm on, but more fun with a team or at least a partner, missions go quick. Also doing Colony Invasion every time I log on, for the 50 fleet marks in about 5 minutes to dump into the projects...

Just out of curiosity, how long is this grace period I read about a few posts up? Been a member for about 2 weeks and contributing... so I'm just wondering not trying to ruffle any feathers.

Totally informal/casual. Usually just triggered by noticing that you've seen the same guy around a while and it's weird that he's still a cadet, or they ask outright. You've been quiet in here too, just didn't draw any attention to it. I'll check it out.

Keep at it, and say hi on the fleet chat when you see people around :)

Well, if you guys want to standardize the promotions, I've got an idea for that.

It has become kind of a tradition to issue a new fleet uniform around the anniversary events.
So With the 4 year anniversary upon us we could have another uniform design contest this time featuring the Odyssey fleet uniform.
Unlike the old one, it is not for free, since it costs dilithium and fleet credits. About 2-3 days worth of resources really.

We can't provide a template for the uniform because it doesn't allow unlockable constume pieces (stupid really).

So we'd have to leave build instructions at a convenient place.

Anyway, If we use the Odyssey uniform it could be a good way to apply for a promotion.
Let's say first application after 2 weeks possible, post a screenshot of your toon in Fleet uniform and wait for the promotion evaluation.
We can keep the current uniform available for cadets of course.

    Thoughts?

Works for me. I switched from the old fleet uniform to the Odyssey variant we'd been playing with anyway. if someone wants to tweak it, by all means go for it.

In general, our promotion strategy really is just play the game, try and team up with someone on occasion if you see people around, chat a little, and post in here occasionally. If you get forgotten, just post a reminder here and we'll get you to the main Officer level. And for the upper ranks, just do more. Donating to projects, chatting, running events.

We don't really have much command structure or politics to handle, so don't really need much for leadership. We've got a few people with upper-level rights, mostly just spread out by geographical location so better chance of one of them being online, and people that have been playing forever. Outside of a few minor things, though, the general Officer level gets you pretty much run of the fleet...

Fair enough answer for me, and yea. I do keep a low profile most of the time. About half of that is when I'm actually playing it's at an odd time and I very rarely see any other fleet members on. occasionally one other but that's it. As far as on here goes, I prefer the sit back and read mentality rather than commenting, I'm on here regularly, but rarely log in to post, could be months or even years between log-ins on here.

Just wanted to make sure you didn't feel you're ignoring you :)

As we're not heavy into Fleet politics and whatnot, we mostly just bump along fairly happily and don't change much. No power struggles or tracking donations to determine rank/priority level. Other than that one bloodless coup I seem to have pulled off last year, been pretty quiet... ;)

If you need attention or a promotion, it's likely that we just didn't notice, not intentional. if no one has taken care of it when i get home, will try and remember to do so.

I didn't think so, was just curious about how long the grace period is, which I think in itself is a great idea... keeps the mooching at a minimum until they have contributed something..

On another topic, I was having a great run tonight when the server went down again.. so I'm done for the night, but I did manage to finish the new mission and I'm wondering did anyone find any tricks to navigating in the dark during the space walk? i got through it in about 45 min on that section... best trick I found was when I had to scan the door I locked on to Tuvok and went to him... other than that it was random luck to hit all the points.

I played twice, wasn't dark for me...

That said, this thing is going to be brutal to re-run 15 times in 25 days. It's not short, and while not a bad mission, not so much fun that I'm going to want to keep doing it. God forbid doing it on multiple characters!

It's like they decided to make a nice mission, and then to force us to grind it until we hated it and resented them for creating it in the first place. Had this worked like the first Sphere mission (run it once for ship, rerun if you want more of the set pieces) my review would be more positive, but since you have to KEEP doing it over and over, it's not going to be popular...

Iif you mean the ship grind you only get marks( or whatever Qdamnations) from the Tuvok mission once, the 400 amount. The rest you will be getting by doing the Qs anniversary mission daily 15 times at the Academy.
You have to do the Dyson Sphere mission with Tuvok max three times to get all the set pieces and stuff, if you want them that is.

Apparently, there is a known bug making parts of the mission too dark for some people. It will get resolved (and more fun for you as a result).

Ah, that sounds a lot better. Doing the mission 3 times isn't ideal, but survivable. Was just picturing the mission 15 times per character at 25 min or so a run (seems to be about as fast as you can zip through it) is 6.25 hours per character you wanted the ship for. And as a daily, you couldn't just numb yourself and burn through it, either!

The mini-Qs are a little annoying, but at least only takes a minute or two....

Like the christmas event, I'm only going to be getting the ship for one or two of my characters. Even the Qmendations are too much of a grind to do for all 10 characters.

Though if you think about it if you did get 400 Qmendations per FE run you could get the ship in 3 runs since thats 1200 and you only need 1000 for the ship.

Which is probably why this was a one run thing becuase everyone would likely have the ship by now.

    Oh also this is awsome

The character design of Tuvok is great. might be the best likeness to the real live actor to date.

That said, would it have hurt them to give him a canon admiral's uniform?

Knew it wasn't going to be 400 every time, just misread the rest and thought every run after was going to award 40. You get the 40 at the Academy event, just not the FE. That's where my disconnect was...

Then again, we got the ship in only one mission last year, so 3 wouldn't have been outrageous. It's just the 3 plus 15 runs of the Q in a box thing...

Why would Tuvok being wearing one of those old things when all the NPCs try to stay with the latest Starfleet uniform designs?

Alright, Spire T1 is underway! Thanks to those that kicked in to set that one off. Try and wrap up the DIL Mine upgrade next, as that should provide a discount towards the other projects? Then onto Embassy project from there, and Spire T1 OPS should be ready by then.

Lots of projects hitting at the same time, but we'll just keep chipping away at it. The DIL event this weekend is a great way to put a dent in some of these big projects, so grind away! I'll be mostly in the Battlezone over the weekend (more Sunday than today) if anyone wants to team up. More fun as a group...
