Even decent, non-bigoted, and well-intentioned people with supposed high standards will make a remark that can be reasonably construed as sexist over the course of a fifty+ year lifespan. To suggest that you have never done that in your life requires an extreme level of denial.
Not to mention that several female (and male) posters can attest that you most certainly did make sexist remarks in the "Treatment of Women in Misc." thread here a few years ago, and have continued to do so in the years since in the "Babe of the Week" threads in TV&M and so forth.
What I was commenting on was the implication that you made that you would handle the job differently if you were getting paid.
Is this another lie meant to get a rise out of me? I said nothing of the sort.
What I said --in response to a remark by another poster-- was that
if we were paid moderators, then posters could reasonably make the demand as customers paying for our services that we should remain neutral observers and not actively participate in debate, because then it would be a job. But since we are not paid and we moderate voluntarily, and the participation in and enjoyment of discussion and debate is the entire point of why we are here, asking us to remain neutral is an unreasonable expectation under those circumstances.
At no time did I say I was giving a lesser or different performance here because I'm not paid. The expectation of me or the other mods acting differently was entirely on the part of the other person involved, not me.
The problem here is not that you have an opinion. The problem is that you are a very unpleasant person. If you don't want people to poke fun at you, try to be a bit more civil.
Coming from an arrogant, sexist, ageist, admitted liar like yourself, that is a pretty meaningless insult. I'll take some blunt and honest "unpleasantness" over your false civility and condescension any day.
