The so called "girls" here are most probably men.

    Scream away.

I just got back form the library having purchased 26 Virginia Andrews (Flowers in the attic) novels, which is basically 70s house wives murderporn and "Bedwetter, Stories of Courage, Redemption and Pee" by Sarah Silverman for a paltry 5 dollars NZ.

One Christmas present down, too many to go,

I remember when Flowers in the Attic was HOT when I was a young teenager and reading it and thinking it was the worst thing I had ever read and also being convinced that no one's mothers had any idea what was in these books or we wouldn't be allowed to read them.

Of course everyone in that age group today is watching Game of Thrones.

They were on the "sale" table at the local library for 50 cents each.

I'm guessing there's 3 criteria for getting on that table.

    1. Some one's used the book like a soccer ball.

    2. x numbers of years have passed without anyone trying to withdraw the book.

    3. The book has been replaced with a newer imprinting.

    ...

I don't think any one ever withdrew Bedwetter, considering the pristine condition it was in when I found it where I found it.

Whilst an "interesting" theory, to be sure ... I suspect there are other causes for Sarah's book being so pristine. For example: her readership being very respectful of Sarah's collection of random thoughts, in printed form.

I assume everyone here knows that Lifetime has a new TV version of FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC coming up . . . .

Actually, she played two similar roles around that time: both were the put-upon wife whose husband had gone nuts (Richard Dreyfuss kept seeing UFOs and building Devil's Tower in his living room and John Denver kept having conversations with God).

Yeah, I remember being amused at the time that she was basically playing the same role in both movies . . . .

I found out literally yesterday that Sarah and her sister Laura Silverman voice the twins Ollie and Andy Pesto in Bob's Burgers, two of my favorite characters on the show. They're gross and simple-minded, but very very sweet, sincere, and genuine in their love for each other, which makes them really endearing -- and their gross nature is simply because they're like many other 9 year old boys. I love these seeming contradictions, and was happily surprised by the Silverman sisters in the show.

There was a sitcom called "good and evil" not to be mistaken for the amine "Good vs Evil", costarring a very very young Seth Green, where they were parodying the daily soap paradigm and teri played the evil hyperbolic scheming matriarch.

I thought it was fantastic, but apparently the bastard was cancelled after 6 episodes and viewed by all else as an absolute faliure, which amazed me.

Looking at Sarah Silverman, I have to ask: Can the world buy such a jewel?

Yea, and a case to put it into. But speak you this with a sad brow, or do you play the flouting Jack, to tell us Cupid is a good hare-finder, and Vulcan a rare carpenter? Come, in what key shall a man take you, to go in the song?

Well-played, sir! And I am pleased to see I'm not the only one on these boards who's familiar with the works of Billy Shakes!

It's one of my most watched too! And definitely my most watched from the Seasons 1-3 era, hands down.

I love Sarah Silverman and Ed Begley Jr! :bolian:

Joss Whedon made a "version" of Much ado About Nothing set in modern day while still using the full old timey language, that was released about three months ago.

    It's almost cheating.

Amazon Exclusive: A Letter from Sarah Silverman

    Dear Reader:

My name is Sarah Silverman. I was once primarily known for saying the word "poop" and getting paid above market rates for it. But those days are over, because I am now going to be known for having written a book. Why did I write a book, you might wonder? Because it just seemed like the right time to be getting into the publishing industry. I'm kidding. Publishing is rotting like an abandoned possum carcass on the shoulder of I-95. I know that for a fact, because shortly after my book deal was announced, I kept hearing people lament the imminent demise of literature. These days there is only one reason to write a book: to be taken seriously. And that is exactly what is about to happen to me. I'm an author now! Like Ernest Hemingway and Fyodor Dostoevsky!

I see your Kate Beckinsale and raise you an Amy Acker.

The new one is like a reunion of the bit players from Buffy and Angel.
