Nah, just means we're gonna get more along the lines of "check the fornicator" and "sisters floating around in spain".
Gads, the amount of time Matt Smith's Doctor has spent worrying about whether he'll die and not regenerate, starting back in season 2, I guess and just on and on and on...and now he's going to go out with a whole thing about "Will I die and not regenerate?" Oh, and that's also what the final two hours of Tennant were too. Answer: No, you won't die and not regenerate. Feels like we are in for a waste.
Clara never saw Capaldi when she went into the Doctor's time-scar/stream. So I'm thinking Capaldi is the 13th doctor but 14th regeneration (the start of a new set). HOWEVER, Smith's TARDIS still dies and the doctor has to die there, or do something to generate the scar, and it's before Capaldi comes along, hence the lack of him in the timestream. I think he'll actually die and so will the TARDIS. It's entirely possible the mythos shakeup will add some audiobook/novel concepts such as the Doctor travelling with someone other then Sexy for a while (Compassion, anyone?). Haven't got a good theory on Capaldi yet, we know timelord have more then 12 regenerations, but number 13 onwards unless assisted/reset end up with severe problems afterwards (This was old-era stuff, remember the timelord that hit number 13 and ended up conjoined with himself?). possibly sexy is dying and assists the doctor in regenerating much like 1->2 (another 50th throwback), potentially at the cost of her life.
Does anyone else get the impression this will be, chronologically speaking, the Silence's first encounter with the Doctor? And that the Alliance (the Cybermen, Daleks and Sontarans) fighting over Trenzalore with the Doctor, is what Madame Kovarian meant by that "long and bitter war" with the Doctor? As to how the Doctor will regenerate at the end of said war, obviously Gallifrey will somehow be involved.

Hartnell was pretty spry even when he finished his tenure, if that recently discovered interview is anything to go by. The problem was his arteriosclerosis stopped his brain from getting sufficient blood and oxygen. He literally couldn't retain new information. A lifetime of drinking and smoking will do that to a man. The reason Capaldi is looking so good now is because he hasn't been destroying his body from the inside the way Hartnell did.
^To be honest short term memory problems suggests that possibly he had, at the time, undiagnosed dementia, and whilst smoking and drinking can contribute to that plenty of people who abstain sadly suffer from it.
Arteriosclerosis can lead to vascular dementia. An overall unhealthy lifestyle with high cholesterol, smoking and frequent alcohol consumption will help to bring on arteriosclerosis, amongst plenty of other diseases of the heart and lungs that will kill you.
Doctor and Monoid! The one with the kids' drawings, which includes a kiddie drawing of River Song in her green dress from Day of The Moon... And what's with the giant Dalek gun/sucker behind the Daleks? (or is it just that still is in the middle of a cut from a longer shot to a closer one?)
Apparently there is a "fair bit of nudity" in the Christmas Special, and we learn the secret of why the Silence is called the Silence. Some more spoilers and speculation in this article: http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/12/doctor-who---the-time-of-the-doctor-spoilers-nudity-christmas-dinner-and-the-doctors-fate.html
io9 reports that Orla Brady's character, Tasha Lem (also known as the Mother Superious of the Papal Mainframe), is an old friend of The Doctor's, but we've never seen her before.
When I was advancing through the images on this site, an ad was inserted unexpectedly and seemlessly into the series of Who images, right after the Daleks and the Cybermen. I was startled to see that the "Duck Dynasty" guys were apparently going to appear in the episode. THAT would have been an odd bit of stunt casting!
And now I'm disappointed because that's one crossover I'm pretty sure we'll never get. Although it would be so awesome...
