Funny. My mom teaches high school, and she is throwing a Doctor Who party on Friday after school in anticipation of the 50th. She's never done anything like this, and she's super nervous about it. She has 17 kids signed up for it, and she was interviewed by the school paper. If I wasn't out of town, I would totally join her and help her out. I hope she makes some nerdy kids' day.
They are, I really like the Teens React videos, I love when they react to things I know, that makes it even better.
I'm just thrilled that most of them were really into it, and that even that most of those who weren't still knew enough to know something of who the Doctor was. That non-fans recognize and/or have heard of The Doctor, illustrates just how popular and pervasive the show has become in this country.
Girl who has never even heard of the show: "He travels through time AND space?! This show is AWESOME!"
Amazing that Lia wasn't familiar with the Doctor, as she is a geek. Also, not surprising that she thinks the idea alone proves it's awesome, as she is a geek.
I would love to see a follow-up with that girl once she's had the opportunity to watch a number of episodes. Talk about unbridled enthusiasm! Sincerely, Bill
You should watch other episodes in the series if you liked her reactions, she's usually one of the standouts. (Though, careful with the Amanda Todd one if you get to it, it's really powerful but you'll come away feeling horribly depressed) I was surprised too chard, but got a good laugh from her secondhand-geeking.
