"In the Pale Moonlight'

James T Kirk

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Bravo, just bravo.

Fantastic from beginning to end.

Everything from the Romulans attitude to Siskos personal log that he deletes at the end.

Kudos to the creators on this one.

And dont ever forget...

Its a faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake!!! :guffaw:

Easily Garak's greatest hour too, in that he so thoroughly manipulates everyone. Him and Sisko usually don't make that great a pairing, but pulled it off brilliantly in this episode. A man of conscience going down a dark road, knowing full well what the cost is going to be to himself.... yet as Garak put it, losing his self-respect to win the war is... a bargain.

One of my all time favourite Star Trek episodes. I think it's one of the greatest examples of portaying moral conflicts in fiction ever done. Acting, writing, it's all there.

I think it's one of the strengths of Deep Space Nine that it sometimes shows that because something is the right thing to do, it doesn't necessarily mean that it is the legal or moral thing to do.

No matter what way he looks at it, Sisko is guilty of conspiracy and is an accessory to murder. But the episode is a dark twist on Spock's "Needs of the Many..." ideology.

There are many TV episodes in which good people make bad choices. Only a scant few actually explore how good people get to that point.

In theater classes we'd sometimes be asked to do a Monologue, Id loved to have done the Sisko monologue, only I saw the show after my classes.

And it's true you see how dangerous Garak can be, he'll even use yourself against yourself to get what you want... just not necessarily the way you wanted to achieve it.

You know he was at what he did in the obsidian order. *starts to drule on the awesomeness of the episode*

I enjoy the fact that in this episode, Garak had the sense of humor to sew this outfit for himself while he was doing Starfleet's dirty work :D
