I think it's likely they intend to trap Pan's 'evil' within the box, be that the person, or some evil essence in him

Count me in as a fan of the actor who plays Pan. Hopefully he has a good agent who can help him play a good guy...otherwise he could get typecast.

I am wondering if the "Henry will be Gold's undoing" is that Henry will undo" the Dark One persona/role, and Gold can be a good guy.

Yeah, that's the easy outcome. I hope they don't use it.

Wasn't the prophecy more along the lines of there being a boy who would help Gold reunite with his son, and that boy will be his undoing? The seer never mentions that it's Henry or even a relative. Nor what the circumstances of the reuniting is (or which time they're being reunited).

You can't get much more reunited than running into your son again after he's died. And if anyone personifies the concept of a "boy" more than Pan, I'm not sure who that would be.

The prophecy doesn't specifically mention Henry, but he fits all the parameters of it.

The point I was trying to make is that he's not the only one who fits the parameters.

^ You're right, and there IS a possibility that Rumple is wrong about Henry being the one the Seer's prophecy mentions, but there's been nothing at this point to suggest that such is the case, and so all we as an audience have to go on is Rumple's conviction that the prophecy refers to Henry.

And prophecies usually are misinterpreted. For once I'd like people to not get tricked by a prophecy

Whoever the prophecy is talking about I can't image they'll actually kill off Gold, Robert Carlyle is pretty much the best thing about the show so unless he wants out or he's super difficult to work with or something I can't imagine the producers will get rid.

Does anyone else kind of want Snow & Charming to stay in Neverland?

You have it backwards. There's been tons to suggest it may be someone else. All we have is Gold convincing himself that it's Henry, and him going around telling everyone that it's Henry. Nevermind that he hasn't actually been reunited with his son, nor that he's been "undone." Nothing about the prophecy has occurred yet, nor has Henry been any kind of threat to him in any way, shape, or form.

Pan, on the other hand, is a boy who can easily "undo" him, and one who can reunite him with Neil courtesy of being both a common enemy and proof that Gold is putting someone before himself, one of the biggest criticisms Neil has had about his father from the very beginning.

Interesting episode, found out Pan's back story.

What I think is interesting is that once again an island is controlled by a black shadow monster.

Really good episode, though not completely surprising - I actually thought they might do something like that for Pan's backstory. Like how effectively he played Henry though, and his little bait-and-switch on Rumpel.

One thing though: moonbending to "remove your shadow?" Rolled my eyes a bit there, since the shadow's obviously a metaphysical thing (not to mention the torches would still cast shadows). Still, no big deal.

Yeah, that didn't make any sense. Rumple was still casting a shadow in the few seconds before talking about the protection spell keeping out people with shadows, so it really has to be a metaphysical thing. *shrugs*

I agree that Pan is the best actor on the show, by the way.

Awesome! I didn't see it coming. This is probably the best episode of the season.

I liked the part when Neal told everyone about the prophecy. The expression on Rumple's face when he realized he didn't stand a chance against the group, not that he was really out to hurt Henry.

Rumple's father was a pariah, a gambler and a drunk who was not cut out to be a parent. At least he knew that about himself. Rumple's childhood wasn't exactly easy, and now I see how he turned out just like his own father.

I assume that was Marilyn Manson doing the Shadow's voice.

I was shocked that Peter Pan was Rumple's father. I thought that they were going to be brothers.

C'mon ABC...no one really thinks Henry is staying dead. 2 weeks for the next episode? Argh. Just 2 more episodes before the big three month hiatus...

There are 3 episodes to go, not 2. Think Lovely Thoughts was Episode 8 of 22, and Episode 11 of 22 is the midsearon finale.

I did not catch onto Pan being Rumple's father until the magic started swirling around dear old dad. Then, it was an oh crap moment. Now we know why Pan can push all of Gold's buttons so well.

The young man playing Pan is fantastic. I assume he will have to vanquished but I will miss the actor once his time on the show is done.

And instead of a cork there's an hourglass

That was an amazing episode. The twist shocked me as well, and it was interesting to me that the Shadow existed before Pan. I wonder if the women Rumple is staying with turn out to be anyone notable.

I thought the shadow bit was a bit dodgy as well, but I guess I can let that slide. I loved the tension between Henry, his parents and Pan and how it all worked out. I can't believe it's 2 weeks until the next one!

I kept constantly looking for a third woman as I expected them, since they were spinning, to be the Fates or some variation thereof like Orddu, Orwen and Orgoch.

Loved Rumpel's backstory and the twist. Also really loved the two actors they cast to tell that story - the one playing his father kept doing a wonderful version of Rumpel's own freaky squeaky laugh - loved that Rumpel apparently got that from his dad - and the young boy they cast as young Rumpel was amazing and heartbreaking. Every time he welled up with tears, I wanted to cry too - terrific performance. Hope they bring him back again. Loved that both actors had Scottish accents too, to match Carlyle's own natural accent.

Well... Rumple has been many things, perhaps he is also one of the Fates?
