I think it's hilarious that Picard's most special happy place fantasy has him the master of a household with the happy wife tending to his happy children, all frocked out like that.
Kind of sad too though.. Kirk's happy place was an actual memory, or conglomerate of memories from his life. Picard's happy place was all fiction and unattainable fiction too.
Picard's sons do appear to be rather effeminate.
One even appeared to be modelled after Oscar Wilde.

I still think they should have made Beverly the wife in the Nexus, really stir things up. Not because we don't see that possibility but because Chief Medical Officer Beverly is now setting tables and playing house. She might have been a tad pissed off if she'd ever heard about it

Armus is much more heinous than Soran. Soran didn't actually want to hurt anyone he just did it because he thought it was necessary for him to get to the Nexus.
Armus actually ENJOYED hurting people and being evil just because it was fun for him and he was bored and resentful.
I haven't voted one way or another in the poll, but I've always thought that, if the writers weren't constrained by the limits of censorship, that Armus could very easily have been Star Trek's answer to a Hellraiser movie*. The extremes of mortal vice and evil made manifest would be a horrific walking predator of a nightmare. It's not that far of a stretch to link scorn with pleasure, which is what Armus did.
(*nevermind that Armus and the Hellraiser franchise debuted at roughly the same time, and that one was written by Clive Barker).

I don't think that makes it OK to destroy a pre-industrial planet (and a M-class planet along with the Enterprise D crew) and give that weapon to the Duras sisters because they helped.

Fuck it I finally looked up Armus because I couldn't remember who he was. Sticky.
I wasn't arguing that it was "OK," just pointing out that Armus was more heinous and that his motivations were far worse.
But he sucked Riker into a tar pit and then regurgitated him, so he's not all bad. Though a bit of a tease being he didn't quite kill off the annoying jerk.

I voted Armus because his entire existence is the essence of evil is it not? It is how he was created in the first place which doesn't really paint the evolved race that shed their "evilness" to spawn him in a very good light.
Why not? I could see it being very convenient for some self-righteous beings to "shed" their evil into a corporeal entity that will do their dirty work for them, while their hands remain clean.
Just like Morbius in Forbidden Planet. And perhaps the Krell.
Well doesn't it seem a little irresponsible to leave such a malevolent creature around to fuck with other spacefaring cultures?
